There are techniques in which has been repeated ad nauseum such as learn basic 3d shapes, shading types, ect ect. Then there are figure lessions you could learn like Loomis Technique and other variations.I personally break down figures into basic shapes because i feel that is the easiest way to interpret and build off of. Along with understanding basic anatomy proportions.

You might call this false modesty, but we say it play it out countless times: Davesprite saving the alpha timeline, Dave rushing to accompany Rose on the way to the Green Sun, Dave getting skewered by Bec and PM in Game Over over Jade. That and the fact that Dave is easily the funniest Character in Homestuck bar none. The constant tension between his coolkid persona and all the ways his little insecurities tug away at it is so funny (and not a little tragic) to behold. You see this with the Smuppets, or when he gets called out for sub-vocally monologuing about coffee on the meteor. Dave has (or at least did for most of the comic) the perfect balance between real heroics and cringe spaghetti dropping.

All the hard work you put into your beautiful little adventure - designing characters, figuring out new drawing techniques, setting up the plot, making sure the updates are frequent enough, learning animation, promoting it online. All of it has one simple result: its position in the ranking of ongoing fanventures is going to be below a single page cover art.Made the perfect mspfa? Great. How many favorites is it going to get? If you're lucky, half of some hypothetical epilogue whose number of favorites has nothing to do with its actual content, which is to say literally nothing. It gets new comments from expectant readers every day. It gets the benefits of the original Crow Strider AU that ended long before you've learned to draw.As a creator who has a fanventure, you are LITERALLY dedicating at least 20 hours a week simply to make an adventure for the mspfa readers to ignore. It is the ULTIMATE AND FINAL cuck. Think about it logically

Since quirkfag started the convo about the aspects I'll use the opportunity to ramble a bit on my own, even if nobody else gives a shit.Some time ago I've noticed that the aspect wheel is actually split horizontally, with Space and Time, the building blocks of the reality, acting as a demarcation line. The five aspects above them are the ones I'd call "sacred" or "transcendent": Life, Hope, Mind(nous), Breath(pneuma, in theology also called spirit!), Light(also doubling as gnosis). From a more theological, esp. gnostic framework, you could make a strong argument these aspect are closer to God/Monad, transcending the flawed material reality of Space and Time.Below them are five "profane" or "material" aspects: Rage, Doom, Heart(soul/psyche), Void(emptiness/kenoma) and Blood(flesh/body). They're further from the divine, arguably even limited in their existence to the material plane, which is why they're situated on the wheel below the horizon of spacetime.I don't think Homestuck is actually posing the upper aspects are "good" and lower ones are "evil", especially given that Skaia actually takes part in creation and perpetuation of reality, but it's certainly an easily noticeable division if you know a thing or two about gnosticism.

But now we have a new axis, the "Subjective/Objective" Split. Breath being the cardinal Subjective aspect and Blood being the cardinal Objective aspect. This has been something people have suspected ever since the aspect wheel came out, and even before then, because John and Karkat are basically the two main characters, at least in terms of the themes of the story, and are also oppositional forces.

I kind of perfer the more concrete terms of Cardinal Notional and Cardinal Material. But subjectivity and objectivity is fine, and fits with passivity and activity. It is also good to imagine a second axis because it eliminates the need to assign breath and blood an active passive sway, because those two are the only ones that are completly exempt from it.
