Haven't watched this show in years and I'm morbidly curious about how it's held up since I dropped it.Has the show reached the lows of Bethic Instinct again since then? Or has it actually improved?

The rest are mediocre and not worth watching. Rick and Morty is the kind of show where the writers are clearly capable of making good episodes, they just usually choose not to.

Yeah, I really don't like admitting but the show in my opinion improved a bit. is nowhere near as original or even has the same feeling it had in the past but a lot of the episodes are okay and don't feel stupid on a second watch. They seem to be dropping the idea that they can't be the old rick and morty anymore and are kinda doing their own thing with it. is good, I like this new episode of this new season quite a bit, interesting character interactions and dynamics, but too heavily reliant on action to be meaningful. They basically trow a bunch of money in to animation in to very exaggerated fights so they don't have to be funny. Still too much cynical pop culture references too, but it's not nearly as bad as it was before.

Series have their ups and downs and R&M still has good episodes every season. Some awful episodes now and then aren't a big deal for me.The premise itself should guarantee interesting episodes at least.

The latest episode was pretty fun and had a good few genuine laughs. The fucking scooby doo ass scenario where Rick's legs kick his brain back into his body caught me off guard. I will say it feels like EM's personality completely flipped out of no where though. They should've shown a small montage of Rick and EM teaming up so him warming up to Rick felt more natural

From a practical angle, there's literally nothing to gain but a purely hedonistic emotional thrill. Plus, given C-137 Rick encounters other Ricks from time to time, it's also a major security issue long term (espically when he knows EM have the blueprints for the Omega Device and he was the one who destroyed the Citadel and damaged the curve's integrity). Even if Evil Morty were sure he was in control in the moment, that's not a gamble he should be taking given all the risk variables invovled.
