After a while on the final episode conclusion it felt incredibly predictable. I want all writers to put their hand on a bible and raise their hands and say "I will never say my ending is Unpredictable or similar language". Jax getting Abstracted was an inevitable and the journey to get to that point didnt feel very worth it. Is it a bad episode? Not really. Is it a good one? I mean kind of, its got its moments but i cant help to feel it just phoned in. 5.5/10

The Amazing Giggity Circus
I think Jax fails as a tragic character. A tragic character is when certain positive traits lead to a character’s downfall. Think MacBeth killing the king out of his ambition. Or Oedipus’s curiosity leading him to learn he diddled his mom. Jax has that tragic flaw. He uses comedy to distract himself from the horrors around him. Problem is, by episode 4, Jax is breaking his prankster persona and is just straight up insulting and getting angry at people. It turns him from a fun prankster to just the angry guy. So his character then shifts from "manic to hide my grief" to "being mean is good" which just isn’t a positive trait at all and kills the intrigue of Jax’s entire character. Another problem is the lack of dramatic irony in this show. Tragedy works well when certain characters know things others don’t. Characters are just too self aware in this show. They know their own feelings and the feelings of others too well. Jax knows what he’s doing to Ribbit, Kaufmo, and the people in his life. He knows the toll it’s having. It’s as if TADC uses the opposite of dramatic irony. Characters know things about each other we do not. And we just have to wait for them to exposite them.And finally for tragedy to work there needs to be negative consequence. And with Jax gone, well, what really changes in the end? Gangle doesn’t need to be afraid anymore? Ragatha can stop being antagonized? Pomni is a little sad but smiles? There’s zero catharsis in his loss. His abstraction becomes a net positive for everyone. Top that off with the fact Jax seems to just accept his fate, and the entire movie just comes across as self destructive man self destructs. Realistic? Sure. Narratively or thematically engaging? Not really.

I have nothing anymore, I'm the art lead of a pile of nothing but memories and regret, but this pile is still my life. This game is so deeply attached to my life vicariously. Our current lead is young and enthusiastic, and he wants our next update to involve something deeply personable about the old team, probably to help people like me that are so attached to it move on. He wanted to straight up reference some of these people we lost, but that was too far in my mind.It's a visual novel, it's not important or relevant online anymore, but it's kind of big I guess. There's still over 12,000 people in our main Discord. I've said too much to drop the actual name somewhere this public.
