For the record, I don't think they need $500k for 4 episodes either, but you may notice that each episode scales. I have no idea what their initial goal is, but $50k was earmarked to pay for 2 episodes, $150k was to pay for 3, then $500k to pay for 4. So I think they're just BSing numbers. They don't NEED $500k to make 4 episodes, but they wanted to make a tier for $500k and were running out of extras. That said, they almost definitely didn't game out how much rewards are going to cost to produce AND ship, how much kickstarter is going to take from their campaign, how much taxes are going to ream them...They're making all the classic mistakes. If this somehow manages to accomplish the impossible and actually get funded, they're going to run out of money almost immediately.
