I liked 'Burn The World Down'. I don't normally like Gamer Isekai, but Khan is refreshingly brutal and honest about being a edgelord, and he isn't afraid to plow chicks. Also Ozai screaming about his Red Bull then backhanding Azula is hilarious.'Ember, Ash, and Kindling' is a fic where Ursa convinces Ozai to take the family into hiding when Azulon orders Zuko's death. It was pretty nice, but imo they introduce a few characters in the middle without much setup. Would've enjoyed another chapter or two.There was also one where Zuko was captured by Ozai during the Black Sun, so the Gaang never recruited him and made do with Iroh. Zuko is plopped onto the throne shortly after Ozai's defeat while dealing with Azula's craziness. It was pretty nice in the beginning, but it started dragging out and being too 'emotional' about things, and I didn't like how Zuko lost his firebending.

Aang being Aang want to help his injured new ally, and so Zuko has to pretend to be mute while refusing to take off his disguise. This little lie snowballs very quickly, and Zuko has to balance chasing the Avatar with his persona as the Blue Spirit, who occasionally shows up under the guise of helping the Gaang. He does actually help them, but Zuko’s initial reasoning is that he’s gathering info on where they’re going and what their strengths and weaknesses are, and if someone else captures Aang then Zuko can’t go home. He gets (very slowly) broken down by the genuine affection and camaraderie shown to him. Toph figures out the game as soon as she’s introduced, but she plays along because she’s based.

Katara is also giving Zuko some intense whiplash because she goes from treating Zuko like a heinous subhuman monster to treating the Blue Spirit like an injured baby animal she needs to take care of. Very fun dynamic.

Years ago I read a fic with Katara going on a solo journey to find Hama so she could master bloodbending and use it for healing purposes. It was like 15 chapters long but oddly entertaining and portraying bloodbending as having potential for good.The downside is the writer was clearly not a fan of Aang as well as his relationship with Katara. So Aang is portrayed as childish and narrow-minded throughout the story.But the premise with Katara learning to master bloodbending in a way that brings her peace is something I wish was more explored in canon.
