>>154447986You just have to pay careful attention to how they act in the source material. If it's a cartoon watch some episodes that character is in, get a feel for how they act, how they talk, and go from there. Dialogue can be tricky sometimes but it's very important to get right, try and get it as close to how the character talks in the show as possible. Also make note of any mannerisms that seem integral to that character's personality and include them; don't leave out core traits, even negative ones.Once character development starts or the specific circumstances of the fic that separate it from the source material become evident people will generally be more forgiving of the character acting a bit differently to demonstrate how they've been changed but it's still important they feel like that old character and that these changes seem natural. Deviations from canon behavior have to feel believable as the result of extenuating circumstances via the fic's overall narrative and specific events.

New chapter of Rhombus of Reunions came out a few days ago. It’s been a really great Psychonauts fic so far. The Dion and Raz scenes might be the best version of the argue/reconcile fan stories involving them I’ve read. They really sound like brothers.
