Not sure I trust donkeys. A few years ago I was petting a donkey that wandered close to his fence next to a public sidewalk. He seemed cool, wasn't afraid, and was curious about the work my company was doing there, so I reached through the fence and started stroking it's forehead. Felt like a thin wool blanket stretched over stone. I expected to feel skin and underlying muscle, but whatever.
