Last time we were with the New X-Men, they were dealing with the aftermath of M-Day when 99% of mutants lost their powers. What followed was a lot of death and a lot of misery. William Stryker's Purifiers launched an attack on the Institute, which resulted in the deaths of dozens of depowered students as well as Wallflower and Quill and some of the Purifiers themselves. Stryker himself was among the dead, killed by a new manifestation of Elixir's powers in response to Laurie's death. The remaining Purifiers were then seen working with the Facility, the place that created X-23.Icarus had been killed after discovering that Stryker was working with Nimrod, who went to Texas to force Forge to repair his body. The NXM comandeered a Blackbird and went after him, eventually being able to overload the time device inside Nimrod which sent him back to his first appearance thus creating a time loop. While this was happening, Wither had been living homeless with an old woman and after learning of Laurie's death, gave in to using his powers. The old woman revealed herself to be Selene and the two left together.Today is New X-Men #33-37.Previous >>154591585

You know, there's really never a reason as to why Cessily is so obsessed with defending and fangirling over X-23. She just is from the second Laura shows up.
Yep, brought back the Grind Stone just to blow it up and possibly kill Luna for good measure. This shit really is just miserable and, dare I say, mean spirited.

>>154602955>We should go beat up the Young Avengers for no reasonSanto understand he's in a comic book
>>154603390I'm pretty well convinced that every single thing with Rockslide in this run was Yost's. It's the best stuff in it and pretty consistent with his style of writing without Kyle. I would guess a lot of the edgier stuff was Kyle's.
I'm sorry man but Predator X and Kimura are some of the lamest shit ever.
Issue 36
I feel like this arc is ultimately incredibly pointless. Mercury I think might have a couple of times where she has a "wakes up in a cold sweat" kind of thing but is otherwise not really any worse off over what happened to her. Kimura shows up a few times in X-Force to do not much of anything, then disappears for a decade until Taylor randomly brings her back to kill her.The main thing is Predator X which is really just setting up a threat for Messiah Complex that's taken care of not by Mercury or anything but Wolverine. It's just kind of four issues of nothign.
Issue 37
Told you back then. The House of M arc is the entire reason Magik returned.
That does it for today. Next time will be New X-Men #38-43 which will be the effective end of this run.

>>154603977Man that's a damn good look for Magik
>>154604917I honestly don't like the Bachalo design. His design sense in general can be really bad a lot of the time.
you're still doing these just how many issues have you storytimed
>>154607642Just looking at everything, 162.
>>154602625weird pose in that last panel
>>154603725I mean predator x comes back as you say. And the experience helps bring mercury and x-23 as friends, which was defintely being setup to be more important. And of course it also bonds laura and julian which was intended to be much bigger.Honestly one of my favorites from this run. Just love it>>154603409Rockslide is yost's favorite x-man so yeah probably? The x-23/hellion stuff might be yost's too given his comments back in 2015 as them being his favorite x-ship too.>>154602653Wither left, she needed a replacement goth.>>154602576She's got it bad
>>154602537Ohh my favorite arc
