Last time, the Light Brigade returned and began attacking so the Runaways -- minus Chase -- jumped into the Leapfrog and attempted to escape. They also realized that with the Majesdanians overcoming the Scatter spell, it was effectively ended which meant that they were no longer under its effects. They attempted to use the Leapfrog's camouflage to hide but Chase showed up in a VW bus converted by the Steins into a flying assault vehicle. When the battle took out a news helicopter, a temporary truce was called to save the occupants. Karolina eventually decided that enough was enough and agreed to leave with the Majesdanians but it was revealed afterwards that Xavin had instead taken her place and was now gone.Meanwhile, shock jock Val Rhymin was in contact with a magician familiar with the Minorus and using the dark arts hid a spell inside a song that would cause anyone who heard and had plastic surgery to turn into a rampaging zombie-type creature.Today is Runaways #8-10.Previous >>154724887

>>154738637I actually liked that issue more than I expected. I think I just like when they focus more on the cast hanging out, since their superheroics are consistently shitty endeavors (which is realistic, don't get me wrong).
Issue 9
>>154738729I said in the previous thread that I think the Rock Zombies story is a lot better than the previous one but it still, to me, feels more like a Defenders story than a Runaways one. I wonder if Moore would have built on that going forward but this is his last issue so it's moot.
CWC?
This ends Terry Moore's run on the title. After this they'll put Kathryn Immonen on the book I guess as one last attempt to help sales? But she doesn't start immediately and instead we'll be getting something of a double-sized filler issue with two stories; one by Christopher Yost and one by James Asmus.
Issue 10
This takes place during Manifest Destiny when the X-Men had moved to San Francisco and invited all other remaining mutants to join them there as it was a mutie friendly city. This would eventually lead to Utopia.
It's Yost, of course the New X-Men and especially Rockslide were going to show up. I kind of wish we got more of this group interacting because it's mostly a Molly/Wolverine story though.
Turns out they didn't fight.
I can kind of understand saying things like that just to protect Molly's feelings but the Hayeses and Deans were far and away the biggest and most irredeemable pieces of shit among the Pride.
And the second story of this issue.
That finishes up things for today and since there's only four more issues left in this series I figure what the hell? Next time it's Runaways #11-14.
