White Trash.

>>
>>155007018
Not every directors movie is going to be a winner, like people talk much more about Tarantino's Pulp Fiction or Kill Bill than Hateful 8. 300, Watchmen, and DOTD are all still well regarded by fans
>>
>>155007018
Or that crappy viking show that had an indian guy get railed in the ass?
>>
>>155006975
Snyder's movies look like dogshit when he is his own cinematographer. See: Army of the Dead.
>>
>>155007601
Did this nigger seriously just compare hateful eight to rebel moon?
>>
>>155007601
Hateful 8 was still a competent movie, Sucker Punch and Rebel Moon were outright terrible
>>
>>155007601
Dawn of the Dead is the least bad of the bunch, and it's still a middling remake of a much better movie. Any it's not as if it's particularly well shot or directed, it's just high concept as fuck and came out at a good time. Watchmen is legitimately bad, it has some good sequences but he completely misunderstood what Watchmen was about and made a horrible turd as a result. And 300 is incredibly forgettable.
>>
>>155006943

What a complete non-event. HE'S BACK...on the WB lot to host a screening of Excalibur.

No one said it was a classic but there's a big difference between a director making an okay movie and one making an outright stinker.

the original question was why no one cares about Rebel Moon, not if it was good or not. It's not good, but a director not having all their movies being talked about on an equal level is common.

Because Snyderbros don't actually give a shit about him as a director or the rest of his work, they just glommed onto Man of Steel as being this amazing work of art because they were all children, retards, or jeets, and thought babby's first Jesus allegory with DBZ fights was actually super deep, and when the rest of the world told them it was actually shit they dug their heels in and made the Snyderverse their entire personality.

More likely the craziest fanbase. Full of nothing but dumdass bigots.

You don't even need evidence of his abject failure to highlight if Zack was the supposed visionary to save superheroes and sci-fi media he would have already done so without DC properties.
The lack of any notable success says enough.

I'm no more a fan of Kirkman's styling than Snyder, but at least Invincible exists and has evident success.
>>
>>155008615
He's there because of his good relationship with two executives at Warner that lucked out of the chopping block last Summer. Apparently they do something like "movie nights" with a famous director to up their morale, and Snyder was mainly there because of said relationship and because WB is probably going to distribute his remake of Escape from New York

>>
>>155008789
I have noticed that most Snyder fans tend to be mostly attracted to his style because of his rule of cool and his writing style trying to be profound while being absolutely shallow. It is basically a combination that makes a lot of people be into this idea of what they like, aka heroes, not "lame" and "taken seriously".
Which leads into a lot of insecurity (mainly that coming from the comments made at his movies) and the idea of being a contrarian to the popular opinion, which in turn became devotion to him for being "like them", you know? The director that opposes to those ideas, likes Heavy Metal and cool shit.
>>
>>155008870
And that's fine, so did I. I really liked Cavill as Superman and was excited by the idea of him coming back with his cameo at the end of Black Adam (that hierarchy certainly changed). It's fine to like the Snyderverse, I like the films well enough to own them physically myself, but the hardcore "restore the Snyderverse!" "Gunn is shit bring back Snyder!" people who insist that the Snyderverse is the absolute pinnacle of DC characters and that Snyder himself is some kind of cinematic messiah while never having seen any of his other work or holding it up at the same level of cinematic importance are either mentally deficient or brown and just being obstinate.
If they really believed that Snyder was the best director in the world they would be touting Dawn of the Dead, Legend of the Guardians, and Sucker Punch as all equally masterful.
>>

No, it's fine to like the movies as their own contained little thing, Snyder is actually a very capable director in terms of visuals, so the films are at least interesting to look at, I mean shit 90% of 300's appeal is the visuals. The moral wrong is to insist that they are the definitive iteration of the characters and that there can be no other cinematic version after.
>>
>>155007830
>And 300 is incredibly forgettable.

>snyderverse restoration
If Gunn’s stuff keeps failing WB will just put everything DC that’s not Batman on the shelf for twenty years. If Snyder couldn’t meet expectations at the height of the super hero bubble he’s certainly not going to meet it now that it’s popped.
>>
>>155009843
No. Just one for the score.
>>
>>155009862
the super hero bubble popping is a myth, theatre chains were just damaged by the coof. Every marvel film with actual A listers in it made a billion, only the garbage they churned out trying force literal whos was a failure.
>>
>>155009926
Tell that to
>The Marvels
>Captain America Brave New World
>Thunderbolts*
>Fantastic Four First Steps
Pre-Endgame each of those movies would’ve come within striking distance of a billion or hit it. Regardless super hero movies and theaters themselves aren’t anywhere near as healthy as they were during Snyder’s reign and they failed to meet expectations then. They’d do even worse now.
>>
>>155009995
Marvels is three d-listers, falcon is a d-lister, thunderbolts are a bunch of nobodies. FF did ok for having to relaunch a turbo bomb and being completely unconnected to the rest of marvel, plus it was boring as fuck.
>>
>>155009774
You're the one who thinks he can go out and talk to a bunch of daddies about a super homoerotic movie tonight.
>>
>>155010060
>Marvels is 3 d-listers
Captain Marvel made a billion dollars. But, again, that’s really not the point. During an era where characters like Carol Danvers was pulling in a billion neither of Snyder’s DC movies starring the literal biggest super heroes of all time, one of which featured the very first time the two characters meet in a movie, failed to break a billion. There’s zero reason to think they’d do any better in today’s box office climate.
>>
>>155010215
you mentioned those three scrubfest because you know strange, panther, spider-man, and thor were still healthy. There is no todays bost office climate because spider-man is going to do 2 billion and so will doomsday.
>>
>>155006943
I'm not reading the NYPost, so I looked up another article from IGN:
>Snyder was there to host a staff screening of the studio’s 1981 Arthurian classic Excalibur, which fans will remember was playing at the theater the night Bruce Wayne’s parents were murdered in Batman v Superman.
>Snyder has previously said he would only ever make another DC film if it were an adaptation of Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns.
Complete nothingburger. Snyderverse remains dead.

These two visually interesting (cherry-picked) parts mirroring each other, doesn't make up for the almost entirely abysmal film between them.
This is the problem with Snyderfags, you're all so easily wowed by Snyders visuals that you don't realise you're inventing deeper meaning to attach to them because the film itself lacks actual depth. Everything in Batman V Superman is just characters paying lip-service to basic philosophical ideas, but the film never actually explores any of them.

A) compare the box office numbers to the two Snyder movies to the box office numbers of the MCU movies coming out at the same time with much, much, much less popular characters than fucking Batman and Superman
B) it’s a continuous downward trend because Snyder and his cult completely poisoned the DC well. He single handedly made the entire franchise a fucking joke for a whole ass decade and anyone trying to right the ship is going to be fighting an uphill battle in the same way Batman Begins was after Batman & Robin. And there was nearly a goddamn decade between those two movies, WB is trying to make DC work immediately after Snyder butt-fucked it. You can be a retard and like Snyder’s garbage but posting shit like this and actively ignoring any sort of context makes you an insufferable faggot.

>>155011587
They moved away from Snyder because regardless of box office, the overall critical and audience reception was that the films were shit. Man of Steel made that much money because it was the first Superman film in almost a decade, Batman V Superman made that much because it was a movie with Batman and Superman at the same time. There is no way you are going to argue that Suicide Squad is a good film. Aquaman had no involvement from Snyder, Wonder Woman did, but so did WW84 and that was hot garbage.
What that image actually shows is that Snyder fucked up the DC films so badly that people stopped going to see them, and that people were willing to give the new Superman a go because it was a reboot, only to immediately lose interest again because DC went the opposite direction.
TL:DR high box office doesn't make a good film.

Yes, the very first movie featuring Batman and Superman, an event that’s been hyped up for nearly a century, being as fucking laughably awful as it was tanking the brand for the foreseeable future, especially so soon after, is not totally unrealistic. DC has a massive uphill battle after Snyder’s terrible movies and his cult making an embarrassment of themselves online for the last ten years in Justice League’s name. Anything DC that’s not Batman is going to need to look phenomenal or get absolutely perfect reviews for audiences to be interested. Superman making as much as it did is a fucking miracle.

For one that’s a very cherry-picked picture, you really had to go into deep cuts on Gunn’s resume to find those instead of using something like GotG. Whereas with Snyder you’d be hard pressed to find any movie he was involved in with a RT score over 60%. Second, Gunn doesn’t have a fanatical, obnoxious group of “fans” who ruin any sort of conversation on a topic. We don’t have threads here on an almost daily basis dunking on Thor Love and Thunder for failing with the GotG without Gunn’s involvement. That seems to be a uniquely Snyder thing.

I liked his Superman movie for the most part but his DC movie plan is retarded, especially the idea of having two Batman franchises running concurrently. Now I dare you to name one flaw in Snyder.

Having actually watched MoS, I thought Cavill's performance of the character was really genuine. It's just the world he got stuck in (Snyder's world) forced him to react in ways that pushed him into more and more awkward situations. It's a real idiotball method of writing, but it lets Cavill prove he has the talent for the role. Shame he didn't wanna come back for the Gunnverse version, since he's a Snyder lickspittle IRL.

It's a creative dynamic that accentuates the motion of the scene, in both cases. Same as the constant panning shots inside Lex's command room, to match the motion of him pacing back and forth between the monitors as he directs Ultraman's movements.

I didn't say grieving, that was the other guy. I said "lain to rest" as in the actual process of coordinating a funeral. You're pulling that "six months later" out of your ass because you're remembering the REPORTING of his dismissal, not the dismissal itself. And yeah, WB explicitly screwed him.
>The company also did not opt to delay the film's release despite the fact that there had been numerous problems in post-production, so that the executives would receive their cash bonuses before the company's merger with AT&T.
I will shit on this man's talents all day, but don't drag his dead daughter, who had NOTHING to do with this trash heap nor the controversy surrounding it, through the mud.
>>
>>155013499
>By not using his daughter’s suicide to cover for being shitcanned.
Here are his words
>I just was kind of done with it. I was in this place of [knowing] my family needs me more than this bullshit, and I just need to honor them and do the best I can to heal that world. I had no energy to fight [the studio], and fight for [the movie]. Literally, zero energy for that. I really think that’s the main thing. I think there’s a different world where I stayed and kind of tried. And I’m sure I could have . . . because every movie is a fight, right? I was used to that. But I just did not have the [energy]. There was no fight in me. I had been beaten by what was going on in my life and I just didn’t want to, I didn’t care to . . . that was kind of where I was.
Then WB execs gave the statement that made look nice, that Zack was voluntarily stepping away (which wasn't entirely true), and that was it.
>>
>>155006943
What the fuck does this have to do with /co/?
>>
>>155011294
>He's the american version of Uwe Boll.
oh damn, does that mean his Postal movie sucks? i've had it in my collection for ages but haven't watched it yet because I wanna play the game first.
>>
>>155013560
Nothing, but I'm guessing it's just some Snyder fan that misses his DC movies so much he had to cry about everything else
>>
>>155013551
>I will shit on this man's talents all day, but don't drag his dead daughter, who had NOTHING to do with this trash heap nor the controversy surrounding it, through the mud
I’m not the one who used the kid’s death to either cover for my firing or stood by and said nothing as a bunch of studio execs used her death to cover their ineptitude.
>>
>>155013560
That's what I've been saying, yeah.
>>155013581
Kill yourself, asswipe. I'm done engaging seriously with your shitposts.
>>
>>155006943
I don't see the purpose of bringin Zack Snyder back. Is he going to restart the DCEU? Is he going to continue from Aquaman 2 or is he going to ignore everything after his JL? Is he going to keep using the same actors that were part of his Snyderverse? Is he he going to do an earth-2 while Gunn DCU is earth-1? Is he even going to adress why the characters are so fucking old compared to when they first appeared?
>>
the snyderverse wasn't that bad desu
>>
>>155013592
If you read the article, he's not coming back. Headline sensationalism turns into thread sensationalism turns into 285 posts of people jerking eachother around over nothing.
>>
>>155013593
It was terribly rushed
>>
>>155013593
No, it was everything bad about the world. i hate it. I hate him. I hate his fans.
>>
>>155013608
And yet somehow also moved at a snail's pace, since it took him ages to try and set up his Darkseid movie and nothing ever came of it.

Mid honestly, Supes 25 was better.

Awful.

Really good.

Bad.

Good.

Better than JWJL.

yeah it was, but it's still nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be
>>
>>155013620
>Darkseid movie
You know what I'd like to see? I wanna see someone like Robert Eggers do an adaptation of Fourth World that treats it like its own thing completely separate from the rest of DC.
>>
>>155013629
>Mid honestly, Supes 25 was better.
You can't possibly believe this.
>>
>>155013620
But he set up Darkseid by the third movie, no?
>>
>>155013642
It is. Gunn understands the character better than Snyder.

I will say it and keep right on saying it - Snyder had the right idea. The dumbass bean-counters bought into what was almost assuredly “Disninformation” about how much money a Batman/Superman movie would make and went into fucking panic mode when it didn’t meet their bullshit projections.

Every time you start a new continuity with a character, the public knows it, even if they don’t actively follow the BTS of studios and productions. They see a new actor, they assume a new story, a new take on the character. Batman Begins didn’t exactly hit it out of the park in terms of box office, neither did the first Iron Man. Even after having already been introduced in a previous MCU movie, Spider-man: Homecoming still fell far short of a billion. They had a storyline developing, momentum growing, and rather than trusting in the public’s willingness/hunger for a story, they pussied out like the greedy, short-sighted, spineless chickenshits they are.

and apt name to what you do everytime you spam the same inane pics over and over when you get triggered

You're the one crashing out right now.

I'm not the one posting pics as a coping mechanism. If you want to debate, do it as an adult then.
>>
>>155013659
For a comparison like this, I think you have to keep in mind that Snyder's Clark was raised in an emotionally abusive home by a father who was scared to death of his alien son, leading to a version of Clark that has to constantly reign in any sort of emotional response because he thinks the entire world is afraid of him, while Gunn's Clark never had a death in the family and so he takes the little things a lot more seriously from not having the full weight of mortality impressed upon him at an early age.
Also, Supershit was explicitly something Lex cooked up and had his intelligent monkeys spam online to target Superman in mental warfare, meanwhile whatever the papers were saying about Clark in the Snyderverse never get revisited because they only matter for that one scene.
>>
>>155013704
I post pics because i know they'll easily trigger someone.
>>
>>155013659
>Supershit
Do you edit these pictures yourself?

Oh right, the bump limit is 500 now. Shit, we gotta wait 200 more posts before this godawful thread can finally die.

BvS bombed man
I don't know why you fags are in denial about this
>>
>>155013717
Nope, that was in the movie.
You see, in Peacemaker they joke about Superman being into shit, so Gunn thought it would a genius move to reference that bit in the Superman movie itself. Gunn just love making jokes about shit. See Guardians of the Galaxy where Drax kept talking about long turds.

Really when you think about it the entire Snyder timeline is pretty fucked
>hire Zack Snyder to shoot the Superman reboot headed by Chris Nolan, taking a chance considering Snyder already sacked the Watchmen movie and lost a ton on Sucker Punch
>Man of Steel underperforms and has the biggest second weekend drop in box office history, the majority of issues people have with the movie are the things Snyder added
>despite this hire Snyder to direct the sequel that will set up their MCU rival and effectively give him free reign and let him double down on the things people hated about Man of Steel
>again, despite Man of Steel failing to meet expectations not only let Snyder head the sequel but let him shoot the follow up to the sequel, Justice League, before the sequel even hits theaters
>to absolutely no one’s surprise the sequel, Batman vs Superman, comes out and everyone hates it
>WB panics but let’s Snyder continue making Justice League but asks for some concessions
>Snyder refuses and continues to hand in a movie that WB specifically isn’t asking for
>WB realizing they have a massive bomb on their hands finally give Snyder his walking papers but instead of announcing he was fired announce he had to leave due to personal reasons
>WB hires Joss Whedon to try and salvage what’s already shot but to no one’s surprise Justice League releases to a critical and box office thud
>Snyder seethes on social media about his cut of Justice League for years, whipping up a group of retards who harass WB for several years straight
>COVID-19 hits right as WB is putting out their streamer, thanks to everything being shut down they have nothing to put on it
>the Snyder cut is just sitting there so WB relents and gives Snyder another hundred million to finish the movie
>all they ask is Snyder not add any sort of sequel bait
>Snyder adds sequel bait
>WB releases it anyway
>doesn’t move the needle at all on WB’s steamer
>>
>>155013715

>meanwhile whatever the papers were saying about Clark in the Snyderverse never get revisited because they only matter for that one scene.
They were also part of Lex's mind games, you know. No super-intelligent monkeys in some top-secret black hole facility that’s obvious to everyone because they could see people come and go from were necessary.
>>
>>155013751
No, you're just an easily triggered faggot, so it is entertaining to post these pics along with my posts just to see you go off on them.
>>
>>155013681
>Every time you start a new continuity with a character, the public knows it
That’s not at all true. When Batman Begins came out normies were confused why Joker didn’t kill Batman’s parents.
>they see a new actor, they assume a new story
That’s not true either, nobody thought the Roger Moore James Bond was any different from the Sean Connery one until autists started spreading the retarded “James bond is a code name” nonsense theory
>>
>>155013766
You hear of this great new invention called Commas? They let you format a sentence so you can restructure its order while still maintaining legibility. Lemme show you.
>No super-intelligent monkeys, in some top-secret black hole facility that’s obvious to everyone because they could see people come and go from, were necessary.
Also, sure the papers were part of Lex's mindgames, that's easy to say when it ends up not mattering after that scene.
>>
>>155013749
Why do you feel the need to lie so much?

>>
>>155013789
>that's easy to say when it ends up not mattering after that scene.
Like the whole plot of Superman, where people went back to love him again at the drop of a hat despite the message from his parents being proven to be real?
>>
>>155013727
post porn anon, this thread deserves to be delete

Yes.

Because he refuted his parents' message instead of pretending it didn't matter.

>>155013826

>>

>Because he refuted his parents' message instead of pretending it didn't matter.
And the general public became aware of this how...?
>>
>>155013831
They were greedy, capeshit back then was making bank and Snyder couldn't get BvS to deliver a billion, so they got rid of him.
>>
>>155013840
I’m gonna guess saving all their lives from Lex Luthor tearing the city apart probably helped
>>
>>155013868
What Mister Terrific had to do with Superman?
>>
>>155013863
In their defense at that time in history the first movie featuring Batman and Superman together should’ve been a slam dunk billion and you would’ve had to been actively retarded to keep that from happening
>>
>>155013880
?! So because Superman had help in saving everyone that negates Superman saving everyone? So Superman’s sacrifice in BvS didn’t count because he had help from Batman and Wonder Woman?
>>
>>155013908
Yes.
