But as someone who read the whole story detached from the fandom as I read it after all that, I say there isn't much connection between Calliope and the people she's supposed to represent (other than being aggravatingly naive though I would describe the average Tumblr user as much worse than that, deliberately naive in fact which Calliope is not) but for me I got the experience of Calliope just being a strange alien who is a well enough character, with maybe the one off line about her writing shipping fic of the characters needing to go, but otherwise Calliope dose not remind me of a tumblr user and is a character who is mostly seen as negative through that forced connection that would otherwise be just seen as, a lonely naive poet alien with a heart wrenchingly tragic story.So my fix for the cherubs is to change your own perception of them detaching them from what their supposed to represent by the author and what they end up really being in the contained reality of the story.
