>>155446787I feel the same. To me davekat is just slop. It's bad but just a literal piece of shit bad. You might get angry at a turd for being there when step into it or smelling it as you walk past it but you don't hate smelly poopoo in that way. It's kinda technical distaste at the end of the day, just like when you criticize bad writing.Meanwhile for some reason dirkjake makes me seethe immensely. I loathe it at the deepest emotional level. Like remembering it exists makes me simultaneously feel a dozen of emotions and each one of them is negative. It's either a doomed miserable trashfire that makes me feel bad or frankly pathetic attempts to portray said doomed miserable trashfire as salvageable or god forbid cute, which makes me so angry I wanna punch something. Even if from the writing perspective it's "good" in the sense that it has a certain purpose within the story and it does a fine job delivering it, that purpose is still viscerally awful.
