But the distinction here is that pokemon HAVE NO notable instances of being knocked out of, taken away from, or having their superforms STOPPED. Meanwhile in sonic/shadow canon they have NUMBEROUS instances of being knocked out of, effecting, or their superforms being negated outright. Meaning based off this it stands to reason that those moves WILL effect shadow.
