PROSPITCEST ANON'S HOMESTUCK REREAD PAGES 1-214. (attached are my physical notes i have been writing down and will continue to write down as I continue to read, enlarge the image to see everything!)Ok so i read from the start to around where rose is introduced and i felt it was a good time to stop what i was doing and actually start typing about my experiences so far. I'll be honest im sure I and many others kind of skim through a lot of act 1 because it is mostly meandering bullshit with gags that are *usually* only funny the first time. In my case i only slowed down for the pesterlogs and any bits of the comic i actually liked in terms of comedy (gamebro magazine and whatnot)First and foremost is the fact that even hussie knew that a majority of this act was a tutorial for the rest of the comic, even if he didn't realize how big the story would get and how unimportant most of what he introduced would be, he still took a lot of care and effort inbetween gags to establish how the world of homestuck worked and for that i appreciate him for it,. Because the slow start is a bit of a hurdle for noobs to get through, it does prepare them for the bullshit later on in the comic, rather than if everything got weird allll at once. John, rose, and dave all have good chemistry together, even if it is only off screen chemistry in terms of rose and dave. And what i said earlier remains true about how much more well rounded the kids are in this early form, even Dave, who is the most eccentric of the kids. Honestly there *isn't* that much for me to say right now. It's all just the foundations (messy and weak as they are) for the story that we will see later on. And so i have deemed it unnecessary to dive further in than i have to. Take a look at the notes i wrote, a lot of my more sporadic thoughts are on there. (apologies for my messy handwriting)
