Women in this show are truly evil, the beggar kid, the chancellor, the leader of the faceless, Nisha.Prisonjacketbending and shacklesbending remains the strongest skill."I'll always be Team Avatar" he said the thing!Very weird we have all this focus on only havens being safe and then Pavi's parents just living on their own, chilling in the spirit storms, farming eggplants.I can't really blame Nisha for how she reacted, Pavi first surprised they just left her, and then switching her opinion as she as she learned they died, guess a normal reaction to a 9-year old, she has no reason to hate the parents unlike Nisha; this is all a much better backstory than Korra's.The fire bandit, Zeeh, doing lightning was meh, unimpressed by tier 2 casting by random people with no struggle to learn it.I hope the second season is about Nisha opening a chakra, and the point of twins is them opening chakras' another cannot. Nisha's chakra is guilt, after all. If Pavi is the one opening all chakras it's going to be boring.Korra is less unbearable when she doesn't talk..
>tfw pavi says she going to be the better avatar
>>156122079>Jae calling Karthik is personal hero>Jae randomly saying Karthik has broad shoulders>Datu looks like a young KarthikI didn’t know the writers were based enough to seriously imply Jae wants his teacher to fuck his brains out

Just finished watching>sister's biggest fear is being left>leaves herYeah I'm thinking Pavi was a little too harsh there. The character drama of it all was really compelling. I don't really like amnesia plots and they really dragged this one out, but I guess it's okay. At least Pavi escaped Ellora, next will be Nisha I guess, maybe? It sounded like her chakras were all open which was weird given she should have had some issues because of her memory.

Not sure what Karthik's problem was but getting depowered is eh, they can undo it later if they want, though they probably won't. Only room on Team Avatar for ONE airbender lol. I do hope this means Nisha and Pavi reconcile, but... I hate that they keep showing Nisha get forced to look bad and fuck up her relationships. Like no adult's going to explain that accidents happen? Also I think it's pretty clear their parents were 100% in the wrong and just scared of Nisha being the Avatar. Not sure why they weren't also scared of Pavi, and holy fuck what was this EARTHBENDER children AIRBENDING AT LIKE 6 YEARS OLD nonsense? Journey to master all four elements my ass, every other avatar before KORRA was a shitter. The powercreep is nuts.

>>156122330Theory based off the last thread that the factories weren't actually made to use spirit energy as a fuel source they are used as a means of reverse engineering science as a means to load Korra up with her previous Avatar spirits because someone suggested each factory was built on a different chakara marking

So the Faceless supported the Avatar because...? They didn't appear to have any special insight into the Avatar like the White Lotus did. They must be aware of the official story: that the Avatar is a horrible being who destroyed the world. If so, it looked like they were siding with the Avatar purely out of spite; they thought she was an asshole, and they were a whole gang of assholes too, so they figured they got that in common. And then they decide that they're not gonna put up with the Avatar if she can't bend. Dick move. And then nearly all of them plan to just run off and leave all other Ellorans to die. They do get a change of heart and turn back to help. It didn't really seem effective at redeeming them, though. They were an awful faction throughout this season. The only reason why one might sympathise with them a little bit is that they look somewhat more sane than their primary opponent. Kayoko just went completely nuts towards the end.

MAYBE I can see it but I really think there would have been at least some explicit mention of Raava and Vaatu this season if it was going to be relevant going forward, like how Korra's shit got hinted at even though it really had very little to do with the chakra plotline of S1.>>156122297Yeah I just really don't like writing so much tragedy for a nine year old girl. She's just a child. Being the cause of your parents' death and sister's crippling and fucking up every important thing from then on is just too much. It's gratuitous. They're both breaking twin promises left and right. It's bullshit they're getting pressed to unfuck the world immediately at 9, when if they waited JUST four more years they'd be much more emotionally mature and capable of dealing with things. The world seriously can't wait? Not even that long? They both need somewhere safe to grow up, OR they need to stop having tragedy thrust upon them so hard. It's distasteful to watch nine year old girls suffer.

I hope to god the more the Korra plot gets revealed it resulted in Nisha becoming even more evil like Korra gives her best nuanced explanation of how everything went down and Nisha simply throws both her hands in the air with a "are you fucking kidding me" pose and decides "yeah you know what Vaatu has a point, you're so fucking awful at your job that I don't even WANT your job anymore."I don't like the idea of there being an evil version of the Avatar but that's how you do it. Like Korra seems confused that Nisha has no desire to follow the traditional path of the Avatar because all it's accomplished has resulted in people thinking the Avatar should be monopolized thru nepotism or abolished as a concept entirely in fear of the grander good. An Avatar who decides "fuck it I'm more powerful than anyone who the fuck is gonna tell me what to do" is only gonna make /co/ love Nisha more
>>156122454>It's bullshit they're getting pressed to unfuck the world immediately at 9, when if they waited JUST four more years they'd be much more emotionally mature and capable of dealing with things. The world seriously can't wait? Not even that long?this is such a boring fucking mentality. this show is for children, children deserve to be protagonists, it's fiction, this is a safe place for them to process emotions. if it was up to you fags then all protagonists would need to be legally 18 before doing literally anything to escape the child soldier allegation thinkpieces
Priority list:1. Pavi2. Geet3. Ruhi...666. Nisha
>>156122454>The world seriously can't wait? Not even that long?Obviously not. Pavi used to be afraid of being the Avatar because of a lie, but now that she's free from that fear, she knows exactly what her path is, and this fucked up world needs the Avatar more than ever. Also, she doesn't want to talk to her sister, which is completely understandable. Her sister broke her leg and killed her parents.
>>156122353>because someone suggested each factory was built on a different chakara markingYeah I can see that, explains the color glowing on the world map in the intro. And the spoiler storyboard color.>they are used as a means of reverse engineering science as a means to load Korra up with her previous Avatar spiritsAn interesting idea but it sounds really dumb and like something that would cause the cataclysm by itself, which raises the question of why anyone would be stupid enough to think that might work, including Korra.I was trying to lurk threads last week but fell behind, and holy shit was the discourse trash. So much trolling and bullshit. It honestly felt like I was back in /wng/ on /lit/.
>>156122299I don't think we have all the cards on the table yet.The twins were both bending openly at home so they 100% knew both were the Avatar so i think something happened that put Fear of Nisha in them that Pavi never did (Probably going Avatar State and doing something ridiculous.).The twist being that it was Pavi that did it but the parents thought it was Nisha, because ye old Twinswap cliche.>>156122454I'll give Pavi credit in that she still does the dive save, even if it then pivots into basically mogging Nisha by being more awesome.

Like there's mature surface content like punching, but writing tragedy like this is THEMATICALLY really too heavy for the target audience imo. I can't think of any classic disney movie that portrays this level of suffering for longer than a few minutes, right before the climax.
>>156122491It is stupid. I think this whole chakara idea sounds retarded and it really is evidence how this absolutely was a completely different show before it became an Avatar themed show instead for stronger brand recognition I just want Asami to be evil but if this does end up being correct then I want Asami poisoned by fear chakara which makes her a hostile animal because it would be the perfect moment for Korra to just say "fuck the human race" and get this shit show in next gear

There was probably only one child at the start. Then Nisha just apppeared or got created from Pavi. Which is why there was only a pair of gems

Something really bad and really frightening must've happened that changed things, something that made the parents decide that Nisha would be better off with the White Lotus taking care of her.But man, it's hard to watch the scenes with the dad. >>156122474Unironically I think it would be fine for millions more to die in the next four years so that Nisha and Pavi have more time to grow up.>>156122480It's not that, I just think it's distasteful to show a little girl of that age being forced to suffer by the plot, rather than any particular character flaw beyond being young and immature and having too much power, which btw an avatar shouldn't even HAVE at that age. Like no avatar before Korra was bending all the elements so strongly at that age, and probably for good reason: because the risk of accidents and permanent trauma is so high.Seven Havens could easily have been written so that Nisha didn't accidentally kill her parents and cripple Pavi. It could have just been the storm knocking some rocks over. The amnesia thing could have been limited to the first half of the season, revealed at the midpoint, and the rest could have been dealing with the fallout before Ellora fell into peril (Pavi still could have had her chakra blocked by being scared of being the Avatar, Nisha by losing her family). ALSO Pavi started the season all about family being most important, and then at the end she completely repudiates her only living family when she should recognize it wasn't intentional, though the lying was.Nisha's suffering just feels pointless as far as the show goes.>>156122483>Also, she doesn't want to talk to her sister, which is completely understandable. Her sister broke her leg and killed her parents. The Pavi who spent all of episode one driving it home how family is most important to her. The most important thing ever. After Nisha said the thing she fears most is being left.I get that she's in a rush for the avatar quest but I'm upset with the writers for writing it that way.
>>156122729The parents were also acting especially stupid (one parent temporarily staying behind to hand off Nisha) because they no longer saw Nisha as human. Remember they really don't know what the fuck the Avatar is, their only visual representation of Korra makes her look like an actual monster.
>>156122729Dude was a shit dad. Plain and simple.
>>156122642Literally, Pavi is the more level-headed and responsible of the two. Nisha’s courage is nothing but a fantasy fueled by her desire to be an action hero loved by everyone. Pavi has her feet firmly on the ground, and her bravery is genuine.

>>156122663I think Pavi seeing the previous Avatars is a Red Herring in that we are expected/supposed to that this as "Okay she is the real deal" confirmation, but it is that both twins are spiritually connected (as was shown) means that they both have access to what the other gets. or to put it like this, the twins are separated, but Vaatu and Raava are still spiritually connected, and with them all the past Avatars so there isn't a "Vaatutar" and "Raavatar", it is one (Mixed) wellspring with two rivers and how the river is shaped determines how the waterblend ends up.
>>156122079The fujos are mad as hell that Datu is an antagonist as though they didn’t have him say he’d kick out the avatar even if they were a good person in his intro episode and didn’t make posters slandering Jae’s job and ruining his reputation two episodes later lmao
to be fair on the parents they did contact Karthik to care for Nisha they didn’t just completely plan to abandon her.

>>156122797My guess is both of them will be the ones to unseal different chakra points (three each and them both working together for the final one). Would also make it more sensible to cut down on season count to account for all seven havens. Nisha will probably have her own Zuko arc where she is off doing that
>>156122803the dad was very hyped to abandon her daughter
Asami's factories are so stare of the art that even 200+ years into a doomed future not only do they still fucking work the Elloran government who're suppose to not be technically advanced at all figured out how to keep them working. It feels hollow. We found out the truth about their family, and it's all tragedy, and worse, how it was revealed created new wounds and more tragedy.Pavi opens her blocked chakra, and then ends the season on a bitter-bitter ending. There's no sweet, it's just bitter.Maybe because they knew they had S2 lined up they figured they could put a more solid, cathartic ending THERE, but they really should have written some catharsis into ep13 of S1.

Jesus christ these writers hate Asami(just like they did throughout the LoK)Just let Asami be evil ffsAlso why have two avatars at all if all of the writers blatantly prefer Pavi over Nisha?
>>156122642>everyone on /co/ thinks Pavi should quite literally eat shitNo, I don't blame Pavi for what she did, I blame the writers for giving her the spirit quest immediately and Jae not making her actually stop and perhaps pack supplies for a day and give her time to process her feelings before leaving. Maybe not have the last thing she says to her sister be "I'll be a better Avatar than you, what happened to twin promises?".Pavi being hurt and lashing out makes sense. Writing the story so that she then leaves on that note so it can fester is just unpleasant as a watcher, especially at a season finale. I guess I would say the writers should eat shit but etc etc.
>>156122969>Look deforestation isn't a bad thing if it makes my wife Asami happy and very wealthy. Nature spirits are agents of Vaatu. See you can't spell progressive without progress and it stops for no one

>>156122864It's really NOT fair and at this point it's bad writing. At the very least it's distasteful and displeasing. It would make some cathartic sense IF Nisha had any really bad character flaws other than being 9 years old, but she doesn't.
HOW THE FUCK DID YOU GET LOST IN THE DESERT NISHA YOU WENT TO PAVI'S HOUSE BEFORE
>>156122942Consider the following scenario:>Alice tells Bob she saw a ghost>Bob tells Alice she's busy and will get back to her later>A day later, Bob returns to Alice>He introduces the topic with the sentence>"You saw a ghost, was it?"Most speakers would consider this a natural sentence. The "it" refers to the clause "You saw a ghost". The question intends to ask Alice for confirmation that Bob is remembering her statement correctly. It is a shorter way of saying>"I believe you saying that you saw a ghost. Am I right?"It is this construction that anon used, just with a negative interrogative, and in the present tense. The sentence may be impossible to parse, but I would not call it ungrammatical.
Imagine Pavi and Nisha are confronted with two spirits...>I AM RAAVAI AM VAATU>I AM LIGHTI AM DARK>I AM HOPE AND ORDERI AM DOOM AND CHAOS>I AM PEACEI AM WAR>HEAR ME AND KNOW MY WILLHEAR ME AND KNOW MY WILLUmmm...okay I think we'll hear Miss Peace and Hope...>AS AVATAR IT IS YOUR DUTY TO END THIS WORLD, IT CAN NEVER RETURN TO ITS SPLENDOR, IT AND THOSE WHO DWELL HERE MUST BE EXTINGUISHED FOR WHAT IS TO COME*Wake up screaming*What if the "cosmically correct" course of justice is to destroy what's left and start over with the whole world being reborn like it was at the dawn of creation? And of course Vaatu in his very nature is in opposition to this?
It's weird that pavi and nisha were able to bend at such a young age especially when they can bend all four elements. If previous avatars were only told when they were 16 how could they NOT have know they were capable of bending them all? I always imagined Korra was a prodigy and also they didnt want to go through the trouble of retreading learning arcs because Korra was initially only going to be one season. Pavi and Nisha had only interacted with their parents before the split and they live in an anti-avatar world. It would make more sense that they could learn how to bend much later in life rather than at 6 years old.

>>156123105I predict she's not gonna unlock any chakras, just constantly get screwed over by the universe until there's literally nothing left of her but a broken failure of a girl who gives up entirely and just accepts her own death because at least then the pain might stop.
>>156122950based spirit of MOVE THE FUCKING PLOT FORWARD
I don't care how badly Asami wanted to get Korra's avatar lineage back surely there had to have been a more constructive way like Korra going on a soul searching expedition in the spirit realm you know like what Avatar Wan did. I don't care if she following all regulation no nature spirit is gonna look at her factory and just allow something like that to exist. Like I don't make the fucking rules you wanna complain about it Korra should have closed the fucking portal now there is fucking Chakara slurry giving everyone soul poisoning and it's all Asami's fault
>>156123129Most never thought to try especially if they were living during the Four Nations era. Why would a waterbender who's never left the NWT think they could firebend? Would they even know what that looks like?
Why don't they just do what Aang did to unlock his Chakras: Find a convinent rock and get hit on the back by it. Are they stupid?
>>156123122I thought that was strange, and Pavi went back to her house a few times over the search period so they could have met there (which itself is odd, because Pavi thinks Jae is betraying her and would know where that is too, so if anything Pavi should be avoiding her own home)

>>156123031The flip was too fast. And it was very clear that Nisha, in the memory, didn't intend to cause the accident, and her parents were in the process of abandoning her, and that memory-Pavi was trying to go back to be with Nisha.I know what the in-story reasoning is, I think the writers were wrong to write it that way. It's unpleasant and anti-cathartic.
>>156123129I assume that since all styles of bending exist in Elora they got the bare basics by just watching. In previous ages people of different bending styles lived in different communities so there wasn't a way for an avatar to find out they can bend other elements organically besides traveling, with Korra being the obvious exception. Regardless, there's no required age to start bending. Aang was below 16 but was not only good at airbending but a full master of airbending. The weird part is the White Lotus pushing them so much at such an young age.

>>156123463I asked because i thought of an episode where he was training to release his chakras but stopped at the last due to not wanting to accept he'd have to let go of his attachments, but i don't remember if he ever got back to it.
>>156123376
>>156123463Chakras aren't only an avatar thing. And they don't seem to be fully necessary for Avatars, either, other than for the avatar state, and even then it's not entirely clear. A good massage might have slipped Aang's vertebrae back into alignment without any chakra nonsense at all, given a rock sorted it out and OBVIOUSLY Korra never bothered to open her chakras at all.Of course in Seven Havens they seem more important, but Nisha was BRIMMING with energy, and Pavi was all messed up. But both were capable of energy bending and bending all four elements. It's really not clear what the spirit energy pools have to do with the storms yet. It could go in a number of different directions. The only thing S1 really resolved was what happened to their parents: they died. In an accident, caused proximately by Nisha losing control, and more generally by her parents' decision to abandon her in the middle of the night.
>>156122439>See, the best part of Project Teen Spirit Reactor isn't that it literally fuels itself with negative emotions!>Oh no. >>156123500Aang bailed on the guru at the last chakra, then tried to muddle through without the avatar state, and then he got in the fight and got rocked and went avatar anyway. Then he got zapped and Katara used her precious extra-good healing water on saving his life (and thus all avatars...) at the expense of NOT healing Zuko's scar, which she had said she would do.So yes he never went back to it but it worked out anyway.
Does anyone else dislike how drip fed information is in this show? I get it they want to keep the mystery up, but continuously getting only small snippets at a time is tedious and frustrating- and they are almost always shared in the same exact ways each time, usually in a spirit-induced flashback

>>156123545Yes, its a lazy bit of the writing to rely on an amnesia plot where both Pavi and Nisha conviniently had forgotten everything, and fully lazy that they just gotta keep touching the anomaly thing (or sometimes randomly on just seeing something familiar, like meeting each other, Nisha's bracelet, Pavi finding her home) to keep being fed more snippets every now and then. And I do not expect it to stop, since they still are going to drip feed the Korra Cataclysm mystery.

It could have just been the storm knocking some rocks over."With great power comes great responsibility". This is part of Nisha's arc. Wanted her to be THE Avatar, THE STRONGEST Avatar? Didn't she thought using her powers and showcasing how strong she is cool? Didn't she expend most of the episodes urging be allowed to wreck shit? She needed learn the hard way to better use her powers. She was all bravado and when it mattered it meant nothing, she couldn't do nothing. Pavi showed her real strength, never wanting to use her powers (remembers she refusing to train because she didn't think it cool to play to hurt people?) but when needed she was there and gave her all. Nisha trying to overpower it when Pavi practically sacrificed herself allowing that energy to enter her body.Pavi never wanted to be the Avatar and already learned what means to be the Avatar, Nisha could never.

The thought of sitting with this for months of waiting, possibly more than a year, makes me feel ill. I'd rather just forget about Avatar entirely until it starts airing again.I'm almost certain S2 will end on a better note, spoiler storyboards notwithstanding. It makes better narrative and pacing sense.Sadly... I'm lowering my 7/10 rating for SH S1 to 4/10. Even Korra's S1 was better, ending on a much more positive note (got her bending back, bad guy died, problems mostly resolved with only a little lingering trauma). I can no longer overlook the terrible art and animation, and the treatment of Nisha as a character is nauseating. She shouldn't suffer so much.

>>156124537Nisha's the original source for the anomalies, right? Pavi's the one with a spiritual connection to the past avatars, while Nisha's efforts at stopping them pale in comparison to Pavi's. So Raava/Vaatu duality Avatars are what's going on?
>>156124667Im glad they kept that. It distracting when all the other openings had varied positions and targets while pavi and nisha dont feel as thought out. I'd also say that the intro for the elements are too rushed. Like give each one a little bit more time to settle.

>>156124697>Nisha's the original source for the anomalies, right?I find it hard to believe considering the huge vat of fear juice below Ellora from the old world days.
>>156124618We don't know. The only hints we have of his upbringing are him being very devoted to the brigade (hinting he may have joined when he was very young), he looked sad when Pavi and Nisha said that parents can't just disappear, and Karthik didn't mention anything about a family specifically when trying to convince Jae to fuck off.
>>156124384If that's actually the arc, which it may well be, ending S1 at this point in her arc is brutal on viewers who like Nisha and sympathize with her. Wanting to be strong and do things TO HELP PEOPLE is a noble trait, and while there's a point to showing how that can cause problems, the point can be made once or twice (the amnesia plot thread meant it had to be made multiple times) and then when it was appropriate for her to do so, Nisha should have got the win.Pavi was the one who didn't want to train and didn't want to reveal herself. Without training, she changes her mind and reveals herself and gets the win. Nisha who trained a lot and did her best, got yeeted out. Setting aside the lies and the memories from the spirit energy, it undercuts Nisha's arc at that point, where she's the right person in the right place, fails through no fault of her own, and then gets shat on by Pavi who kinda just gets lucky with lightning-bending redirecting the energy into the sky.IF the issue was Nisha's fear of abandonment not being cleared up, while Pavi's fear of revealing herself WAS cleared up, that would make sense. But neither of those fears were focused on enough imo to make it satisfying to see S1E13 go down the way it did. It should have been more explicit. But I'm not even sure that's what happened, at least on Nisha's side.
>>156124684S2 is soft-confirmed to be airing this november
>>156124685>Tenzin's bloodline is the last of the original pre genocide air benders only kept alive and pure through generations of incest nah, too peak for bryke to sign off on
>>156124406At this point, no. Wait for all of S2 to finish and check back. It might be better worth waiting for the entire series to end. The animation, art, and writing are all subpar. Too much of the situation is being concealed from the viewer and characters to be drip fed over time. Multiple interwoven amnesia plot lines.
>Avatar pets are named Nigga and Jeetwtf did Bryke mean by this?
>>156124689replace korra with nisha and uncensored "shit"

Are we using the bait thread? I don't want to use the bait thread
>>156124528Consequences of modern Western writers growing up on anime
>>156122134It seems more like she's protecting Pavi in this which would mean she's made up with her so whatever is happening is due to karthik being in the wrong or having some misunderstanding but I wonder why
>>156124643The one who wanted to blow up her childhood walking home because an angry russian kidnapped her as a child by strapping a bomb vest to her. Also her uncle lives there and he killed her dad and raised her as his own daughter so now her half-sister is trying to kill her. She's also really hot literally.
>>156124425I don't think it would have been a cop out at all. It was a dangerous situation, maybe have Nisha's crying distract their parents so they don't see the rocks falling. Rather than make it so Nisha's freakout CAUSED the rocks to fall on everyone. If it were up to me I wouldn't have written the amnesia plot arc AT ALL. Just have them being given up as the avatar, the girls hate it, the storm hits, parents die, spirit energy protectis them, they get split up, then reunite later. The emotional stinger would come from the girls not understanding what was happening at a young age, and then later realizing their parents were abandoning them... out of FEAR of the avatar. Then Nisha could have been trained in all the elements early on, while Pavi was just a more normal earthbender until she's discovered years later. Also I would have had white lotus lore explicitly state what they think happened with Korra, the veracity of which to be discovered true or false in later seasons. And better art and animation and dialogue writing.

>been wanting to watch the finale all day>busy with errands>power and Internet went out as soon as I got in>Internet was down for an extended period after the power returned>tired>already half-past-elevenSo tired, but I need to SEE them... (and everyone else)
>>156124625They're both EXTREMELY hurt NINE year old girls in a very stressful situation with no time to chill and reconcile thanks to avatar spirit vision and quest bullshit.Pavi's fine to feel hurt about the death of her parents and Nisha's attempt to cover it up.Nisha's fine to feel hurt about failing to live up to her own ideals and Pavi abandoning her like her parents did.The writers are NOT fine for writing this break up at the end of the last episode of the season, denying the audience catharsis for an extended period of time until S2 HOPEFULLY resolves this tension.
>>156124840I'm not using that other bait thread I can already tell discussion will be awful
>>156124779This I EXPECTED Agam by now, but I haven't seen a single pic
>>156124848>The writers are NOT fine for writing this break up at the end of the last episode of the season, denying the audience catharsis for an extended period of time until S2 HOPEFULLY resolves this tension. The issue here is that this weeks episode is very blatantly the mid season finale of a 26 episode series but since its been split in 2 it has to act as the season finale of one
>>156124848>They're both EXTREMELY hurt NINE year old girls in a very stressful situation with no time to chill and reconcile thanks to avatar spirit vision and quest bullshit.I completely agree. It would be nice to think Pavi will feel guilty for blaming Nisha and will need to reconnect with Nisha to open her chakra...but If that story board is real it looks like Nisha will only continue to suffer.
>>156124849This one? >>156124048You're probably right about thatYou missed the title up tho
>>156124763It looks to me like that's just an error. It'd be nice if it were true though! I'd feel much better.>>156124812The rating is for the following reasons+I like the music+the story is mostly coherent+SOME of the jokes land+Pavi and Nisha have great chemistry-art style is cheap trash-animation is cut corners all to hell-amnesia plot lines (including dumb info dump reveals of things like what happened in the past with korra)-nonsensical power creep (and power regression of normal benders and the loss of any interesting choreography)-trash pacing-unnecessary plot threads (the faceless)-ending the season on a massively tense moment between Pavi and Nisha, denying catharsis.I rated 7/10 after E6 because I was giving the writers room to cook. Resolution to the parents/amnesia stuff, faceless stuff, and the drama between Pavi and Nisha made me dock points as of E13.IN ADDITION TO THAT, Nisha's character is being sadistically tortured by the writers.-denied her chance to shine when it's finally time-written as inadvertently killing her parents and crippling her sister-abandoned by her own remaining family-everyone in Ellora hates her until the last sixty seconds of the final episode-only ever wanted to use her power to help people, only ever manages to hurt people insteadI find all this gratuitous, and it's the kind of treatment reserved for a character with a massive character flaw that will get corrected as a result of the suffering. That isn't the case with Nisha. What is she lacking that any other nine year old wouldn't also lack? She displays no cruelty, no sadism, no greed, and she only lied to Pavi out of fear of abandonment... which is exactly what happened when the truth came out.
>>156124943I agree that e13 character assassinated Pavi
>>156124899>but If that story board is real it looks like Nisha will only continue to suffer.Yeah I'm kinda soured after seeing it. Like it's nice Nisha was trying to cover for Pavi, and even went all out to do so... But it's also clear she's going to get shat on for it after the fact. Which is the writers' fucking fault.>>156124863Yeah the timing is gay, but it seems Paramount hates Avatar so I suspect we'll have to wait up to a year for the next season. Like one season per year. It makes me gag. If they were smart they would have just done weekly episodes, or committed to releasing both parts all in one go. Pausing here is just excruciating.
I need Zi to spit on me.
>>156124943>>156124968Yeah sadly I think the OP of that thread is basically right. A bit hyperbolic but without the twins being cute, what is there? A bunch of mystery bait and homos and bad pacing and nonsensical dystopian setting used poorly.
Was there anything more to Ellora than the shithole town?
>>156122552>>156122131WE MUST BE BETTER AVATAR
>>156124982You have to be useless and upstaged by a 12 year old to be considered by her
>>156125003Not really. Ellora was a shithole in the desert with an authoritarian government and a banditry problem sitting on top of a nuclear waste dump, which they then broke containment on intentionally and nearly irradiated their entire settlement.Literally nothing about Ellora was cool that will make revisiting it later seem like a good idea. Even worse than ATLA's southern water tribe village.
>>156124995I just can't take him seriously, even if I ahree with some of his points, when he complains about a gay character when for the first time in a long time the person being gay isn't written as morally superior or different from someone straight. He's gay, and a shitty coward, and they don't redeem him. Amd Jae is just another team Avatar mentor with reasonable reactions to meeting the Avatar, not this moralfagging goody two-shoes beating up perceived bigots.
Who even lives in the island haven? Was there anyone at the diplomat meeting from there?
>>156124950>she only lied to Pavi out of fear of abandonment...aang literally did this to a different extent in atla during the bato episode... you can really see how much stuff gets rehashed but executed worse
>>156125068have to assume water tribe, because it'sA. on the waterB. the location of the water chakra on the world mapC. equidistant from both northern and southern water tribes, both of which are lacking a haven anywhere near them that isn't already pre-established as being somewhere else (republic city is the closest to the north pole, ellora is the closest to the south pole)
>>156124731But if the fear juice was there for 200 years and the anomalies are a recent development, then logically they could've only manifested because of some other stimulus. Earliest one we see is when Nisha unleashes one after being abandoned by her parents, which left behind the first fear crystal site that the camel spirit lead Nisha back to.
