A thread for wholesome, adorable, and fluffy boys. A little lewd is fine, but this is a cuddle zone first!Besides that, anything goes! Solo, yaoi, het, as long as it is cozy and sweet, and a cute boy is at the center of it, it's welcome!(Also, friendly reminder and warning that lewd shotas can get you punished!)Last Thread: >>11343815

Let's talk manga. There's been a few great series that have come out in the interim of the last trap thread's death and revival. These three in particular seem promising:Mikogami Karen no Kakushigoto is a cute series about the son of a conglomerate leader who's made to crossdress on account of it being considered "good luck" by his family's patriarchs. He ends up being forced to go to an all-girls' school dressed as a full ojou-sama alongside his maid. A fun little series that's looking like it's gonna be a good balance of cute and ecchi.

>this image is 10 years old>Astolfo was still a cozy boy with a good heart>not used as an evil ntr bastard since the two factors responsible for this (Finni081 and Ankoman) hadn't made their presence known yetThat's not to say there is no wholesome (or even cool) Astolfo art anymore, but nowadays the vast majority of people who "know" him write him as a heartless monster, which is so far removed from the canonical Astolfo. But I digress.

I can't remember if I've asked this before in a previous thread, but I'm curious as to what people would consider the characterizing traits of a "trap" or "femboy" and/or what aspects you find appealing about the idea. For me its just the idea of a guy who's pretty in a way that is typically considered feminine, so things like face and hairstyle are most important along with a generally slender build with little or no body hair, and things like body language and mannerisms can be a nice bonus. For most people it seems like crossdressing is the primary focus, while I've always had mixed feelings about that kind of thing due to the overlap with skeevy emasculation/degradation fetishes which creep me out.So I'm curious, its generally agreed that characters like Link with the gerudo outfit from botw is considered a trap/femboy, right? Would you still consider him as such without the crossdressing aspect? Is there some sort of threshold where some characters qualify regardless of clothing while others don't?>>11357133>It's just a shame there's like 5 of usWhile four chinz has always had a bad reputation due to /b/, it feels like the userbase has gradually become more antisocial and unpleasant over the years, which in turn has attracted more such people (especially after m00t left) and pushed away anons who don't fit that profile, it shouldn't be surprising that there's not many people left who would be interested in any sort of "wholesome" content, especially regarding fetish stuff. Not claiming to be some indispensable effortposter or anything but I personally stopped posting in these threads much due to past ones getting derailed by /pol/ shittery and I wouldn't be surprised if other people have left over time for similar reasons, hopefully I'm not tempting fate by mentioning it since this particular thread has been nice for the most part
>>11380002I think Link is right on the cusp where he can make a convincing trap with the right outfit, like the Gerudo or Cheerleader outfits, but without them he's just a twink. There are traps that I'd say are traps regardless of whether they crossdress or not
>>11377915I love fluffy hair like this.>>11380002Personally, I'm into it because of AGP, so I mostly self-insert. I'm less concerned with the labels as with what I find attractive. That says, I think "draw a girl, call it a boy" sucks, and it's better with just a bit of boyishness still visible. I like a little bit of the emasculation stuff since for some reason embarrassment is a turn on for me, but I agree the hardcore sissy stuff is weird. I prefer predicament scenario-type stuff, like the kind of stuff you'd find in an ENF thread.Far as Link goes, it depends entirely on which version and who is drawing him. Despite the number of times I've jerked to femboy Link, I think he's at his best when handsome and strong-jawed, like the way Himekawa drew him in the TP manga.
>>11380002Looks good and effeminate, or perhaps NOT manly. That's it, there's no hard line to it. Very pretty boys, twink, trap, femboy, crossdressing, unisex clothing, male clothing, naked, it's all fine if the art looks good and the text isn't aggressively unpleasant.
>>11367893It's so strange that the saint and the paladin aren't paired that much. That's not to say that there hasn't been any illustrations or fanfics -- few as they are -- of the pairing in the last 10-14 years, but given the yaoi appeal of Astolfo and him being twisted and corrupted into an ntr monster, it should be no mystery as to why this pairing isn't popular.
Question: does this count as trap?
>>11382638
>>11382638Yes?
>>11382638Is this bodyswap/genderswap? I'd say those don't count as trap
Finally a thread for me
I really oughta post more but my trap folder is so large it takes a solid 5 minutes to load properly.
>>11387909
>>11380002I think I'd broadly agree. There's multiple aspects that all feed into "trap" status, and more of them being present means the shoe fits better, but it doesn't necessarily take all of them to land in the area, and the exact combination may lend itself to slightly different terms in the genre. Could be all physical appearance, some physical appearance some personality, mostly personality with a small amount of appearance, and many specific niches within. Similar case to venus, where no one aspect alone is "it", rather enough aspects together reach that conclusion. There just has to be enough features of the character that are feminine/androgynous that my "that's a dude" sensors get fuzzy. I'm probably a bit more generous with that definition than most, I'd include ambushes, or even some kinds of alt guys and other gender nonconformers under that umbrella.Crossdressing is important for images, where you don't have the time to establish personality, but becomes less important in other forms of media (or irl, such as the concept translates to reality), because the personality and presentation of a person can stand for itself. For me, my metric is a pretty simple one. If they're a guy I would want to pull close, hug and cuddle, with they're there, and that brain hook is pretty much the main tool for deciding if someone is or not. >overlap with skeevy emasculation/degradation fetishes which creep me out.I have a similar aversion to the humiliation and sissyfication aspects of this. There's a degree to which I can tolerate them, and very specific applications where I can enjoy them, but those take a very careful hand. Otherwise, I'm definitely someone who prefers things cozy and happy, not complicated and painful like that. The only time stuff like that works for me, is when it's used to break someone down, and get them through the stubbornness and fear of just being who they are.
>>11380346Fluffy blondies are the best. I have a serious weakness for them, I wanna hold their head and stroke it.
>>11387237You should subdivide it!Take the excuse to look through it all and split off a category or two.
>>11380346>and it's better with just a bit of boyishness still visible100%. I'm not quite averse to draw a girl, call her a boy/give her a bulge, but it's definitely the best when there's still vestiges of masculine form in there. Androgynous is so much better than outright feminine, and I love it so much when you actually can't tell which they are just from looking. Being unable to decisively place as male or female is better than placing as female, then seeing otherwise, to me, at least.
>>11387237memedows? you can fix that with this rather stupid trick>right click folder>properties>go to Customize tab>set 'optimize this folder for' to General Items instead of Picturesand then increase the thumbnail size and sort it by whatever as they reset after thismy biggest folders are like 4000+ items and they open instantly despite being on a mechanical drive
>>11388669Thanks for the advice, will do! (when I'm home from vacation)
>>11369044I know it's a bit outside the scope of the thread, but embarrassed nude(ish) traps are so cute
>>11380002I think "trap" is a subcategory of "femboy".it's sort of like how all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares.A femboy is one where you can tell it's a male, it's just a slimmer build. Often there's still a little bit of muscles shown.A trap is what is colloquially known as "chick with dick". A "twink" is what I would consider guys like LInk, Cloud, etc. They're slightly more effeminate than your typical guy, but they're very clearly men. Then you also have shotas in the mix.Basically, put the guy in a dress. If he looks exactly like a girl, it's a trap. if you can sort of tell it's a dude but you need to squint your eyes and look, it's probably just a femboy. If you can immediately tell it's a dude, it's probably a twink.Of course, how the artist draws them can change things, for example Link is sometimes drawn extremely feminine. but I'm referring more to their official artworks, where Link is pretty much clearly drawn as a guy.Of course that's just the physical aspect. The femboy/trap having a feminine personality and voice and mannerisms are also required to pass. They have to act and think like your typical (anime) female. As for why I like them, I like traps more than "just" femboys. Since I consider traps to be "chicks with dicks", you basically get most of the upside of a girl, but swap out the vagina for a cock and balls, which in some cases is an upgrade. With a trap, you still have the mouth and butt for holes to penetrate, but you now have cock and balls to play with. Compared to normal girls, you mostly just miss out on big tits, which does matter, so I still love my anime waifus, but good traps are neck and neck with them and it depends on my mood at the time. Femboys can work too, but usually the artist needs to give them more well-detailed genitals to compensate.Traps are also in what I consider the "grey area" where they can be the bottom or the top, and thus can be in a lot of pairings.
>>11391502I'd roughly agree with this, but I'd say it's a bit more like "apes are technically monkeys" than "squares are rectangles".Squares are rectangles is technically correct, and is "fine", but "apes are monkeys" activates the "well AKSHULLY" response. I don't know what the meaningful difference between these is, besides my own vibes, mind. I know in there somewhere are ambushes, which are just a feminine face on a pretty unambiguously masculine body. And then, I GUESS it's in there somewhere, are cuntboys. That's just genitals, though, and I feel would be an independent check that doesn't necessarily rule out the others.Kinda like you can have a tomboy, loli, bara, or otherwise flat chested/more androgynous futa, being a cuntboy isn't really mutually exclusive with being a trap, femboy, ect. It may inspire "why bother" responses like a tomboy futa would, but, for the ones into it, it might matter a lot.
I always just found trap and femboy interchangeable. Just trap has been considered an offensive term in recent years. I try not to use it outside this site but most boorus also using it makes it hard to remember

>>11392394all traps are femboys, but not all femboys are traps
I was hoping Hej would deliver on either some new SFW or NSFW Astolfo x Jannu art this year but there's nothing. It bums me out a little since I like this pairing.
>>11392394Do you also avoid using nigger, faggot, homo, slut and whore? Trap isn't anymore offensive than niggerfaggot is, because offensiveness, like beauty, lies in the brain of the beholder.
