Some have the pain and gore tolerance, others will find themselves fainting or vomiting, some may start and be unable to finish, some may freak at the need to close or suchlike.You do not want to have to deliver yourself to A&E with a half-sliced hood, you will be sectioned or whatever your local equivalent is.Do you know good wound care? Are you able to source sterile implements, sterilise a work are and yourself, get correct local anaesthetics, get aftercare materials, and work through it all when potentially stressed AND aroused? Do you know how your body will react? Do you know how much of a hassle it can be working on areas of your own body where you need to hold things out of the way and bend? Are you sure you can do it cleanly and keep it clean?I do not encourage people to take up self body modification willy-nilly, and never to do so at the deep end as a first plunge. Going to a professional is always the better option, however IMO when it comes to genital mods it may be best to actually go to a body mod expert who knows what their doing in regards to cosmetic genital modification. I have had several genital modifications, some of which I have preformed on myself, and I would agree that it is 100% better to have it done by someone else, even if that someone else is doing so off the books. In my personal experience and in the experience of other individuals I have talked to personally and online, and experienced body modder will often deliver a superior result even if they have no formal training when compared to someone who has formal medical training. There is at least one body mod that I will 100% be getting done under the table because the results I have seen from body modders is vastly superior to the results I have seen from cosmetic surgeons. When it comes to female circumcision, you may as well forget trying to get it done by a medical professional which will most likely result in you having to go to some questionable and legally grey lengths to get it done if you're serious about it. If I were to get circumcised or one of the other body mods I am considering getting, I would most likely need to have a knowledgeable friend preform the procedure or travel to a country like Egypt, Turkey or Thailand where they dont have as much legislation regarding these body mods.
