For everyone discussing release methods, please just use ice locks, at least as a backup. You can either freeze the key yourself, or buy an icelock. Good quality ones aren't super expensive (especially in comparison to other bdsm gear you might want to buy) and can stay locked for hours with a small amount of water. I use electronic release methods all the time (for randomness and stuff) but I'll always have an ice lock as a backup if it's not my main method. The minor inconvenience of having to freeze the locks ahead of time is definitely worth preventing a death or injury, however unlikely. You can use that extra time to properly plan out how your session will go and what you need to consider or test further. Also some vendors make handcuffs with ice locks built in so you can easily just put them on and then be stuck for that duration, although I haven't personally tried any.
