But they'd still need a lot of food, right? So the humans would have to breed a lot of large animals to fuel them. An elephant could keep a girl full for a day or so. A couple of cows or horses could do the same. With pigs, goats, sheep... probably more than a dozen. Anything smaller than that, like poultry, would not be really feasible and would serve to spice up the menu at best as some side dish once a while. That's for Europe and Asia, I think the Americas would go much more wild. There's not any large domesticated animals, and the Aztecs were already sacrificing thousands of people even without having to fill up hungry bellies of giant women.
