Why did no one here tell me orbital sanders were really op at sanding walls instead of sanding manually like a retard? Man, it does it 10 times faster.
we assumed you weren't so stupid that you thought sanding large areas by hand was easier than using a power tool. we'll be sure to treat you like the absolute retard you are in the future.
>>2939027I always use one when doing sanding plaster off drywall. It's great.
>>2939027>m12 da sanderi want one of these because they are supposed to kick ass but supposedly they destroy the battery retention tabs in a few uses so im gonna wait for changwaukee to figure that out
>>2939027For me its one of these bad boys
Most portable shop vacs connect to it, which is xtra sweet
The manual pole sanders are enough if you've taped and finished well. If a lot of mud needs to be significantly sanded, the power sanders come out. >>2939079hook up the shop vac to the 9" drywall sander
>>2939043One way to dampen vibes is what the Air Force used to do to IFF transceiver backplane connectors. They bridged the card and the socket (which looked like a long ISA socket) with a fat blob of RTV. RTV also peels right off which I often use to my advantage and would try in that case. Blobs unlike running beads are easy to pull off cleanly with needlenose pliers.
>>2939027Wait until you find out about recip saws, and angle grinders and how much better they are than banging a rock against something until it comes apart
>>2939027You just have to keep in mind to fairly regularly (like at least once a week?) blow air all over it and clean off the plaster dust, especially in the corded brushed models, and especially around the brushes and motor. That fucking dust, even with shop-vac hooked up, kills these things way faster than their lifespans would otherwise be.
>>2941318this, electric motors have almost nill torque at time naught so the slightest resistance and they will burn themselves, moisture in the air is enough to turn plaster dust into a soft stone.
>>2941318>>2941364arent the fuel brushless a stepper motor?
>>2939071I use that too, on an impact driver.Much more efficient.
