I hate these tiny houses with gigantic attached garages

wdym it's the best configuration, the ultimate is a giant shed/workshop/garage with mezzanine living quarters so you can sleep next to your projects. Roasties gtfo.

It's not got any living space, but i just had a 24x60 metal building installed. You're gonna spend a good chunk on site prep in addition the building more than likely. Don't know your location, but most all the metal building in the US come from Carolina Carports, they are just sold through different smaller businesses. Some companies run deals on buildings over a certain size, so just shop around. Some sites even have a 3D builder tool to design what you want. This building ended up being $24k after tax, but dirt work and concrete cost another $24k.

Looks don't matter in a working structure. They serve no coldly pragmatic technical purpose.

Dirt is easy to clean assuming one is cawkasian and understand the value of not letting workspace turn into a shithole. Any noise is made by the owner doing useful tasks hence irrelevant.

is a long proven style and one can simply install a latrine and office/lounge/sleeping area. Mezzanines suck to load and unload so I'd at least have (steel) stairs to that.

I got a 40x60 with 16' tall walls, batt insulation ,3 windows, a 14x14 roll up door, one steel man door, and a full 5" concrete slab built for 54k that was Trump 1st term prices though. Added another 30x60 lean to with dirt floor for parking for like 20k right when Biden won the election before steel prices soared.

Prices have gone up since then.

Yeah I buy used or scrapyard steel every chance I get and design my projects around what I have available any time I can...
