Hello /diy/ersSome stupid asshole put a box garden bed under my windows. Now I need to paint the wooden window frames because the paint is only hanging on due to goodwill. The garden bed is 20cm high(ground level-up) and 53cm wide (from wall to edge of garden bed)I can orient the ladder in either direction, but either way only 1/2 of the ladder legs will be in the garden bed. What can I build or do to support the ladder over the void? The top of the window is 2.5m off the ground so I need to be able to reach it
>>2943041Get the proper ladder for the job. A small A-frame ladder ain't it.
>>2943045what is this magical 'proper ladder' you speak of, dear sir?
An extension ladder with sandbags or a buddy keeping the feet secure.
>>2943064>having friendsI don'tso I put bags of sand under the legs?
>>2943047Not sure why this is so difficult to comprehend. Here comes the spoonfeed.
>>2943041MORON!
>>2943041> 2.5m off the ground so I need to be able to reach it> garden bed is 20cmHave you tried extending your arm?
>>2943144Imagine being a 5' 10" manlet and having a double-digit IQ to boot.
>>2943041have the stupid asshole come back and paint
4chan thinks this post is spam. unreal.>>2943085ooohhI had an A-frame ladder which would fold out into a single straight ladder, but I sold itgood idea though, I hadn't considered that. I'm trying to avoid buying another ladder, because after this I'm selling the property>>2943143>MORON!it's spelled moran, you MORAN>>2943144pls no bullyt. 5'4 king of manlets>>2943201>Imagine being a 5' 10"been there, done that>>2943205the building is 50 years old, I'm not breaking open the necronomicon to get him to come back from the dead
>>2943041>The top of the window is 2.5m off the ground so I need to be able to reach itEveryone point and laugh at this manlet! But seriously, Can't you do it from the inside? I'm currently also painting my windows, and I'm doing it all from the inside (no other option in the 2nd floor). Plus, painting is quick and easy anyways, it's the sanding part that sucks.
>>2943041>>2943232It boils down to a simple a question. Is the pavement part of your property or public road? If it is part of your property, just remove the obstrucion, it has no excuse being there. If it is public road, you can't be putting a ladder there in the first place, so you don't need to worry about how. Just put the ladder inside next to the window and lean outward to paint the frame. Make sure to wear eye protection against accidental paint drip.
>>2943443>Can't you do it from the inside?no, the windows are 2.4m wide and only one window pane opens on one side, so my arms aren't long enough to reach 1.6m>>2943462>Is the pavement part of your property or public road?it's a commieblock style apartment building, so the garden bed is communal propertybut the windows are my problem to maintaingo figure
thanks doc
>>2943069On the first rung.
>>2943462why wouldnt you be able to put up a ladder in public? what the fuck?
>>2943232>avoid buying another ladderif only the hardware stores rented them oh wait they do
>>2943530no reason, he's making shit up
>>2943530It is illegal in many cities without a permit and for good reasonGuy on a ladder dropped his hammer 2 ft away from me while I was walking on a public sidewalk. Told him but he only spoke some eastern language
>>2943596Retard
>>2943530You can't set up a ladder on a public sidewalk for safety reasons. Check our the scaffolding and pedestrian protection next time you are in a city.
