This one
I'm poor so I have some hyper tough roll around toolboxes in my shop and on the go I use a Stanley black and yellow plastic one that I got at a yard sale for $5 full of misc chinkshit years ago.
duffle bag
>>2944447la abominacion started with the basic 5 drawer. saw someone selling the same color on market place for reasonable price and bought it to make the double stack. It's still not big enough, wish I just got a full sized cabinet from the beginning. Planning to get something bigger eventually, but after I migrate shit over I don't know what I'll do with this one.

>>2945293Kek everybody who buys those $200 carts as their first box has the same feeling.Tool carts are meant to be a mobile work station.
>>2945314>mobile work stationif your toolbox doesnt roll on 11r22.5s and have a crane and compressor, is it really even a toolbox?
>>2945317My toolbox is in the back of a golf cart
>>2944447I live in a small space, and picrel does the job.
trailer
>>2945314>Tool carts are meant to be a mobile work stationThis. But if you set them up properly they can hold a shit ton of stuff.
>>2945317Nice service truck.
>>2946557And it will never even come close to a full tool chest for medium automotive work.>>2946556This is the patrician choice. I knew a dude who did this and it’s so smooth to roll table saws and miter saws out. And if you’re going to be at a McMansion reno in a gated community for 2 weeks, leave the trailer and drive the truck home at the end of the day. Or drop the trailer and let your helper take the truck to Home Depot for supplies while you keep working out of the trailer.
>>2944447
>>2946775this is the back side of the top box.
>>2946773i only work in gated communities but i don't build mcmansions, i build high quality stuff. i also only do new construction so my trailer is on a jobsite for 6 months on average. it's almost never in my driveway.
>>2946526picrel absolutely does the fucking job. fucking love that little guy. takes a lickin and keeps on tickin. i use one of those at work for my frequently used tools
>>2947443Japanese products are based.
>>2945293>>2945314I'm doing OK with my 5 drawer so far, but I also have cabinets, a bunch of pegboard, and a Klein modular box to keep stuff in. I'll have to upgrade to a big box eventually but I expect to move again first so I'm not in a rush.
>>2947610awesome setup anon
>>2947612Thanks. I just have to deal with the last 20 or so boxes left from moving (you can see some in the pic) and then it'll be really awesome too, should have room for a welder and folding welding table once that's all gone. Might also set up a little airbrushing/small part spray painting booth as well.
>>2946545I got this for $300 last week and I like it quite a lot. Never had a tool box before.Don't have a lot of hand tools, just a lot of various hobby tools. The flat wood top is great for working said hobbies.
I've got two "tool receptacles". as the pic, on the left a tool bag that should've been used to carry my college shit, but I did online uni so it hid in a closet for years. It now carries my electricity tools and the national normbook. On the right, my "stuff box", an old, dead brand toolbox to hold bits and ends. Chain and bolts to hold the front from opening every time I take the lid off are aftermarket mods. If I had the exact tone of paint, I would brush and repaint it.I was thinking of getting a box like >>2946526, fit foam in it, and use it for plumbing or mechanic tools.
>>2947779>I was thinking of getting a box like >>2946526, fit foam in it, and use it for plumbing or mechanic tools.Do it.
>>2947789the ones I'm looking into are from a national brand, either a 2 level bare zinced metal, it's about 50 bucks despite it being called "eco" line. (money I don't really have for something like this lol) but it looks aight. 40x21x21cm, so a bit smaller than the green box I posted earlierAnd same brand a 3 level, 50x27x20, a bit longer and taller, and three times as expensive.I need to work before I think about getting more toolboxes for tools I also don't have
I have one of those cheapo stanley plastic toolboxes that stacks, box on top, the middle part holds small bits and bobs and the bottom roller bin has room for bigger items. I was a janitor for years and then worked at a property management company for a few more years doing odd jobs and some basic electrical. This just keeps all my stuff organized at home like 90% of my hand tools fit into these and I keep a few basics out in other spots for easy access, at work I used the husky tool backpack when going between buildings daily. Not a contractor so didn't abuse my tools much or warrent me getting more expensive options. If I ever stopped living in tiny apartments I'd probably invest in a proper tool chest of some sort just to have a place to lock everything up but I move a lot so keeping the weight down is more important till I find a place long term.
>>2947953Pretty good bag, after 3 years there isn't any major damage but again it probably saw light use compared to an actual contractor who beats up their shit.
>>2944447My most used things are in this. I have my bigger tools in a normal bag though
here me out
>>2949059the famous chuck bucket
>>2949059I want a job where my tools are just a bunch of plastic dinosaurs
Cocky with Milwaukee
>>2947802Buy one used? I got one for 10 and one for 15 from eBay and one with old tools for 35.
>>2949083There is one, you also get grippy socks.
Handtoolfag here. Where my /wwg/ at?
>>2950435>EuropeanYou guys used to make stuff. Sad. Then again, We used to make stuff too.
>>2950435that toolbox tells me your diy projects are full of pure sovl
>>2944447help me decide fags,>84"x24" 18 drawer with fixed stainless steel work topor>72"x24" 18 drawer with adjustable height wood work toponly about $100 difference in price, wondering if the extra 12" of length is better than being able to raise and lower the work top. not a pro but do a lot of work on farm equipment, from tractors to large trucks and pickups. For the past few years working with my dad we've just used 6' plastic folding tables and when one got too fucked up, we'd spend $60 and get another one. I'd like a bigger box because I've definitely outgrown my single bank and would also appreciate more work surface.
>>2950720I'd personally go with the stainless top one. The wood top one looks gimmicky. I do similar kinds of work as you do and metal benches/tops are the best because of the ease of cleanup.
>>2950720definitely not the opening top one. inevitably the top will collect shit and anything in that silly tray underneath will become sealed in king tuts tombas 6sigma states>if you cant see something you no longer own it
>>2950720Definitely the bigger one with the stainless top. You can use the top of a toolbox as a bench but honestly it's not ideal, and if you've got the space I'd recommend a separate actual workbench, you can get them with adjustable height if you want and I've seen decent-looking ones on sale at HD/Lowe's for pretty reasonable prices during Black Friday etc.
>>2950729>>2950741>>2950744unanimous then, getting the big stainless top box. and I was planning on getting a separate workbench eventually. I built my own workshop I've been furnishing and we kind of go back and forth between working at my place and working back at grandad's shop, just depending on who we're closer to since we move around the area a lot doing custom baling or 50/50 baling to hit our own hay quotas
