I want to build a 2.7m x 3m catio using this lean-to car port kit. the roof will be made out of 10mm polycarbonate sheets with aluminium/pvc F-sections and rafter bars. I want to install gutters too to collect rainwater in a butt.what should I put on top of the frame to make sure the roof is sloped? I don't want to make any amendments to the frame or posts themselves so the top of the frame will be completely flat. but I know the roof needs to be higher at the back than at the front.how would I build a door in one of the front two bays? I'm a diy novice and only have a normal sawany other tips or glaring omissions are welcome

>>2945086If you're not interested in doing much math (or suck at it) you could buy 2x12, 2x10, 2x8 etc and space them out on top.Use some type of small right angle bracket so that they don't tip overThe main thing to make sure you do well is flashing it to the house. Either leave a gap and live with a little rain, or do it properly with aluminum and lexel or whatever

>>2945208You're welcome - you probably don't want more than 3' / 1m spacing unsupported under the panels, but if it has bars built in then just read the spec sheet. Either way it will only be a few pieces of wood that you have to cut on one end.Aim for at least 5-10 degrees of slope and it should be fine, maybe more if you get a lot of rain. Be sure to slope the gutter at least 1-2 degrees so that it rolls down into the drain pipe
>>2945086its not rocket appliancestheres only 1 angle (and its 90 deg complementary) besides square in a simple framed roofyou want a 3 in 12 pitch. so that means you measure across 12 units (doesnt matter which flavor or kommie or burger) then measure up 3 units. this is the angle for the rafterspurlins on top are easiest to screw down to. they could be dinky 2x2s for your roof

>>2945086Im glad to see this. Im getting a tractor soon and dont yet have a structure to store it in. I can erect something like this without a lot of effort as a temporary solution to protect it from perception.
