Tell me what AA battery to buy off Amazon.

Sick and tired of the cheap ones I'm getting from the corner store.

Yes, you can use USB chargers for them.

Those batteries with built-in usb ports have lower capacities and you are always better off splitting the charge capability to a second device
>>
>>2945220
I thought that would be the case.

I just want some disposable AA batteries that are somehow better than the cheap ones at the store. They're less than 1/2 the price but they don't even last a month in my wireless mouse.
>>
>>2945220
Eneloops are NiMH batteries that can be recharged with either a mains-powered or USB-powered NiMH/NiCad charger. They're not those shitty Li-ion AAs with built in USB port.

This but the pro version. They have more capacity for a tradeoff of less cycles. I've had some pros for a decade and still haven't worn them out.
If anons are looking for good C's, 5Ah, and D's, 10Ah, Tenergy makes some good cells.

if u have a harbor freight near you then pic related tests better than all leading batteries and cost a fraction of the price. make sure you get the ones that say "edge" because the regular thunderbolts suck.

nah you just have to pay a bit more
these last just as long, just expensive per battery

Get a 4 pack of eneloops, when one pair finally goes flat you stick them in the charger and grab the other set out of the drawer, I've had two Eneloop AAA's in this keyboard for over 2 years now it's stupid how long they last.

I've had bad luck with Amazon brand things in the past.

Problem with these is they're 1.2v instead of 1.5v.
>>
>>2945205
Ok greener
>>
>>2945191
Why buy them? Go to any battery recycling bin and collect the rechargables. So many people use them once like alkalines
>>
>>2945566
I don't think that's worth $20 of my time.
>>
>>2945417
bump for these. the seem like a good deal. how could it go more wrong than the current disposables i have now?

>Costco Duracell
Sorry you're gay OP.
>>
>>2945191
The most powerful (higher capacity), the better (price/performance), regardless of use case.
Unfortunately, they won't tell their capacity (unless they're rechargeable)
>>
>>2945436
>1.2v instead of 1.5v.
Not always a problem. Alkalines have a sloped charge vs voltage characteristic. Many devices are designed to run down to 1.0v per cell. NiCd and NiMH have a flat curve. 1.2v out to 5% or 10% charge. Then they drop off fast.

Just make sure that you catch multi cell devices before the weakest one gets pushed reversed by the others. Or else that cell is T.U.
>>
>>2945624
>Duracell seem to go from dead to leaking electrolyte pretty fast. I don't want to corrode the innards of my vibr... tools.
>>
>>2945662
Tell that to my mom's blood pressure cuffs.
>>
Also, OP, if you're near an IKEA, they carry some good performance to value NiMH. They probably sell chargers for them too, but I use one I bought from Aliexpress that has single channel charging and can charge lithiums too. It even has a battery tester mode that I've never tried.
>>
>>2945191
I always get energized max. There are afew lithium batteries that are supposed to be good. The project farm guy reviewed a bunch of those. He's always yelling though.

Energizer ultimate lithium is gonna one of the best AA batteries you can get. Its handy for high performance say flashlights left in cars at freezing temperatures. Its high dollar fancy stuff though. Most of the time i don't use that.
>>
>>2945675
If you have a device that won't tolerate 1.2v, that means you are throwing out alkalines when they have 40% to 50% charge remaining.

Save some money by swapping the used ones into other devices when the fussy one declares them to be end of life.
>>
>>2945601
IDK
>>
>>2945601
Should I buy these or not? I'm sure they aren't as good as the eneloop ones, but they're exactly 1/2 the price if you include the charger.

I guess I could get the amazon ones and if they suck I can get the eneloop ones and just use the amazon charger and it would work out to be the same price.

The batteries all come out of the same factory, the only difference is quality control, so the best ones become duracell and the shit ones are white labeled to the dollar store

These green duracell rechargeables are the absolute best. They have a higher capacity than most other rechargable nimh batteries. Only issue is that they are very slightly larger than a standard AA battery (probably has something to do with the higher capacity) so they're a tight fit in some devices. Like in my mouse I have to pry them out with a pen because it's too tight to do it with my fingernail.

2nd choice would be the black eneloop pro batteries.
>>
>>2945191
Energizer ultimate lithium. Twice the capacity of typical alkaline batteries of the same size, and will hold a charge for decades in storage.
>>
>>2945723
>Save some money by swapping the used ones into other devices when the fussy one declares them to be end of life.
Got linked here from /g/, casually.
I do this, use them in thermometers, hygrometers and low current LCD, basic clocks around the home. I've even left a cheap ikea clock permanently outside so I know what temp it is on my landing.

15-20 year old cells that are worthless in anything else can still deliver months on end of charge in those types of devices or even analogue clocks. Once they get to the point they last <1 month in an analogue clock, they're done.
