Is it possible? Programming is not the issue for me, it's the hardware.
>>2945212you're late to the 3d animation party, trying to learn this field this late is like bricking yourself into a well. i'm in this hole myself and the future looks grim. but if you're adamant, you can either try a kinect sensor, use some ai software, or try to throw amazon at it with unproven tools imported from china. personally i'd just hack at it manually by superimposing over a live subject.
>>2945214It doesn't look that complicated though. The main goal of mocap is to save time on macro details, which means we don't need the cutting edge implementations, early 2000s studio level feature parity would be enough for most. There has to be a way.
>>2945212What hardware? The whole hardware is a camera. That little glowing points are meant to be filmed and processedba a motion tracking algorithm. You can easily make a suit with glowing tracking points, film them in a neutral environment and track the motion e.g. with blender. From there you can match the tracked points to a 3d model.
Vtuber technology is way ahead of you. Vroid is a free software that does everything for you, and it works with a kinect, an iphone, a logitech webcam from 2008, or basically any other camera that can plug into your computer.
>>2945260Isn't vtuber tech mostly 2D?
>>2945212Yes, easily. Check out slimevr trackers>https://slimevr.dev/Good for mocap and VR Full Body Tracking, open source hardware. You can DIY a set of 7 for ~160 USD with aliexpress parts. I made a set a while ago, love them. Use the BNO08X IMUs though, otherwise tracking will be iffyDO NOT BUY PRE MADE ONES FROM EBAY OR ALIEXPRESSSlimevr themselves or DIYing are the only ways to get functional trackers, everyone else is scamming/has shitty hardware.

>>2945337A lot of vtuber tech is wrapped up mocapping for concerts and such. But it's really expensive. Xsens has a suit that is popular for like 13 grand plus license fees, but rokoko mocap is a bit cheaper at the cost of having to calibrate all the time.
>>2945339that's coolthanks
>>2945355Fillian's rig is a traditional mocap suit, as is pretty much any 3d vtuber. There are some computer vision tools that attempt to mocap without the use of a suit with varying levels of success. It's not realtime but if you're video editing you probably don't care. Just search "AI motion capture" or "AI motion tracking"https://github.com/freemocap/freemocap
