What's a good place to get ideas/inspiration for getting the most out of a small living space?I live in a single bedroom bachelor's apartment in an old commie block, and I think I've done just about all that I could with it, but perhaps I could get more out of it. If I wasn't renting I'd tear down the stupid partition wall someone added in the 90s, because of it I can't even put a full-size sofa, but I have to make due.

Since the thread is still alive I'll bump it.This was my old TV set up, it's DYI from scrap from an old office where I worked, and made it to fit the TV and speakers on top and on the bottom shelf to fit the receiver, a PS3 and the laptop I had at the time.
This is what it looks now and I'm wondering what to use the space under the TV for without looking too cluttered and without putting too much weight on the TV stand as it'll bend.
can you ask your landlord if its ok to remove the wall? mayne they wont care, epecially if the other units dont have it

It was a dump when I moved in years ago.The problem is that it's not a weekend project, it's going to be quite involved from the preparation for the demolition (it's a single room apartment so all furniture will have to be stacked and protected, the tear down, the cleanup, the repairs afterwards.I'll need to redo the floor, the wiring for the lights on the ceiling and potentially a part of the wall between the balcony window and the small window on the other side of the dividing wall.

Ikea already make apartments for hipsters, just look at their catalogues.

Just sleep between couch and tv or on the balcony if enclosed and put it all away in some overhead storage during day. Or use a couch that doubles as a bed.I'd also switch rooms. The power station and drawer make more sense closer to the bathroom. I've also been thinking about one of those IKEA drawer beds that extend. The idea is that having an unobstructed view of the room will give more sense of space, maybe a large mirror on the wall between the bed and desk would also help. The downside is that I'll have to get rid of the studio monitors and fiddle around with the bed every night. >>2950528>>2951609Thanks I'll have a look. >>2951613>>2952056Technically I can tear down the wall but it would be a tremendous amount of work and money.There's electrical wiring that needs to be re-routed, the windows on the balcony would need to be reworked where they meet the wall, as well as the small window on one side of the wall. It would also be a waste not to pour self-levelling plaster to fix the uneven floor afterwards, and the scope just keeps creeping.
