How the fuck nobody is talking about rivets and sheet metal for repairing shit?
Vacuum cleaner broke, fitting clip broke, and I repaired shit in 1 hour. With rivets and random piece of fucking galvanized.
Just a reminder that pop rivets exist and they should be used more.

pop rivets are based in the right application. I love those little niggas. I even splurged for the M12 pop rivet gun. Rivnuts are another lifesaver when you need them.

When I was a kid my dad would yell at me for using them because pop rivets were expensive when you had to buy them at the local Napa or other auto parts store. Somewhere along the way at an auction I acquired an absolute shit-load of 1/8" pop rivets in every length imaginable and it's been fucking game on ever since.

I also like to use nails and finish nails as rivets for certain things when needed. Snip them off slightly long and a little ball-peen action and you have yourself a nice rivet.

Most people lack sheet metal fabrication skills

Remember 50% of society pays people to hang their tv

Seeing as my TV weighs 240 pounds and gives off radiation, I won't be hanging shit.

Hell yes

And you know the 6mm stainless fuckers? They are madly strong. There is even the gasproof ones.

Luv me poprivets, i even have a IR pneumatic riveter, it has a very nice feel and sound to it.

About 17 years ago, I replaced the entire front radiator support with pop rivets. My father and I drilled out all the spot welds and used an industrial pop riveter to attach the new one. He brought one of the pneumatic ones to the house from the Class 8 truck assembly plant. I drove that car for 7 more years with no problems.

rivets are great

body panel repair and rust repair on cars is best done with paintable silicone or epoxy and rivets combined with whatever sheet metal you are blasting over it. Everyone has a boner for welding in a new panel, no one has any idea how ugly that ends up.

tin boats too are aluminum
no one over 40 appears to understand how much of a bitch aluminum is, aluminum rivets are one of the best types of fasteners that dont corrode each other on boats

clean fixes on stainless steel restaurant equipment too

>discovers century old technology
