I found these little shits crawling in my bathroom and kitchen. they seem to like the inside of cardboard tubes like in the cling wrap packaging. I put out a mix of Borax and peanut butter and after a few hours they were swarming it like crazy, but now they barely touch it. they just walk by it without touching it. How do I kill the little fucks ?
>>29496451. Don't leave food or dirty dishes laying around. These ants love people food, especially sugary stuff.2. Go to the hardware store and get some ant bait. Put some drops around where you see the ants. Its like a sugary gel that will stick to most surfaces. Ants bring it back to the queen and the whole colony dies. It takes a few days to kill the colony, or longer if you have multiple colonies.
Buy a box or two of these and toss them in areas where you see the ants most often.
>>2949658>>2949656I put some of these store-bought baits around but the ants ignore them. sometimes I find them in the sink around food crumbs but I don't think they like sugar. what's weird is they swarmed my peanut butter for a few hours, but after that they ignore it completely.
>>2949656>>2949658>>2949669Baits are garbage, get the powder products (the kind where they die a few seconds after walking on it) and spray them in their paths and all nooks and crannies nearby, even on walls, always works
>>2949645I used to have ant problems every summer in Australia. We have dogs so we tend to avoid any harmful chemicals. Bait stations didn't work very well, there was a reduction but they were expensive and never completely solved the problem. The best way we found was to mix up some thick, sticky sugar syrup and leave it near their entry point. Leave them alone and replace it when it dries up. All the sugar will make the ants fat, lazy and sterile, so they will naturally die off. I'm just starting to have them come back again, but it's been about 4 years since I've last done the sugar syrup and I constantly leave attractive things around for them (food scraps, empty Coke and beer cans etc). Your mileage may vary as they are different ants, but well worth a try.
>>2949669Try the terro or raid blue. For me it seems an area will either have ants that like that chocolatey/peanut buttery smelling trap or the terro/clear blue raid. Someone on here or another board said there's some ants that like protein and some that like sugar, I'm assuming those baits are for the sugar ants. Also the drones (winged) ants will ignore everything probably, they're not bitch workers they're there to FUCK
fun fact, ants don't eat the food they find, they can only eat the shit from the grubs back in their hive. They take your poisoned bait back home and feed it to the babies who shit and die, then they eat the poisoned shit and die themselves.
>>2949844But they stand around and feast on sugary foods or fluids.
>>2949851They're not feasting, they're loading up to bring it back like some nasty mama bird.
