What's you favorite material to fix/make things?I recently got some plastic beads that melt under hot water and become a mouldable plastic. It's great!epoxy putty is nice too, I like that i can fill in small gaps (holes in a part or to connect two parts.I did some wood carving, it was okay, but never turned out great.I like the idea of 3d printing, you can edit designs, but I heard to many bad stories about how much work it is to get it working. Maybe I get a 3d printer next year, but a higher priced one that doesn't need all the tinkering that the cheaper printers need.pic not so related duct tape is okay, but never as good as I hoped. It's only good for the first week, after that it becomes a gooey mess. Clear packing tape is good enough and cheap enough that I can use twice as much tape.
AMP super seal connectors, i use them for all electrical repairs on vehicles and 12/24V applications, they are simple and keep water out, pair them with a quality crimper and you'll have perfect connections.
>>2951032duck tape is the fucking worst, it breaks down sometimes in days and leaves a fucktarded residue that is a total ass pain to clean. I will ONLY put duck tape to something that I'm going to throw away soon. I fucking loathe anyone who unironically uses it.my number 1 tool (not just tape) incidentally is blue painters tape. I've had that shit on stuff for 10 years and it comes off clean. I use it on everything all the time because it's strong, easy to use and leaves no residue. I literally have pieces on my garage cabinets and the side of my tool chest etc so I dn't have to find a roll, and I keep 2-4 rolls around. Temporary or permanent it's always better than duck tape.Although I don't need it often anymore aluminum tape is great for the very few things blue tape won't do well. We used to seal football sized rust holes in vehicle doors and then paint over it to fix our vehicles, shit lasted longer than the rest of the car. It's also more properly duct tape, but useful for a number of /diy/ things and again it doesn't degrade and fall off like fucking duck tape.
