how can I make this without actual metal? I dont have a 3D printer btw. And where do I buy the string for this?
>>
>>2951493
Uhh that seems impossible, and no 3d printer? Yikes!
>>
Aluminium can cutouts glued together or smthg idk lol?
>>
>>2951493
its rawhide not string. rawhide boot laces or at a hobby store
without metal is a really really fucking big sphere of materials. cut it out of non corrugated cardboard (cereal box), layer, and build it up with two part resin expoy (glue aisle in hardware store) you can put some toothpicks in to stiffen but multi-layer cardboard is probably better given you can't add a keyring or anything, the keyring being metal.
>>
>>2951518
Aluminium is metal ya nonce. Plus if Al was allowed sand casting would be far superior.

>>2951493
you could make it out of chopsticks now that I think about it, the ring would still need to be something else. ditto with plastic, you could melt some different things like model sprues and the cutoff of a plastic water pipe. Again huge sphere of materials and no information.

1. rethink your life choices
>>
>>2951493
Use resin
>>
>>2951493
The other anons' suggestions are probably better but this looks like something you could make out of a sheet of wood with a fretsaw and some files.
>>
>>2951493
get some thermoset plastic beads, you put them in hot water, they melt and you form it and it cools and then you have your plastic crap

you are an idiot.
>>

if you're too poor to get a $300 3d printer, then buy a chinese 3d pen
>>

>how can I make this without actual metal? I dont have a 3D printer btw. And where do I buy the string for this?
so tired of seeing posts like this. if you don't want to do something right, then don't do it.
>>
>>2951493
What a waste of a thread. Walk around a craft store for 5 minutes, you fucking retard. Cardstock, cardboard, clay, plastic sheets, foam, there's so many different ways you could figure out how to do this, but you still need to be spoonfed.
>>
>>2951493
Is this for a Halloween costume? If you're going to throw it away in a few weeks and you're not trying to smuggle it through a metal detector just get some paperclips to build the shape and duct tape to hold it together.
>>
>>2952131
No I want to wear it frequently.
I made it out of metal wire and clay. It's probably not the best tbqh
I might get wood for this later
>>
>>2951493
Bake it as a hardtack.
>>
>>2952181
That's some CWC tier workmanship.
>>
>>2952181
That looks great and ready to wear! Nice work OP!
>>
Update: I'm carving a new one out of wood, as the other is too fragile

>without actual metal?
why not?

make it out of wax, spread silicon over some cardboard and lay the wax inside it.
wait a few days to dry and you have now made a silicon mold
personally i'd fill the mold with clay and fire the clay in a bbq pit. you'd need to make about 12 of them though because they'll break easily.

you might want to do resin or something else like that
>>
>>2952181
>No I want to wear it frequently.
But why?
>>
>>2951493
Carve clay and cast molten hdpe inside
>>
>>2952598
Because I can't get access to and can't cut metal
>>2952601
Because it's my necklace
>>
Update

It split apart once, but this actually made it easier to carve the insides
>>

>>2952638
I want to know more about you. What tools do you have access to?
>>
>>2952866
Not much
>>
Are you the alternative clothing thread guy?
>>
>>2952877
Nope
>>
chunk of metal a drill and some files. I know you said no metal but its the best option. you could do the same on plastic also. maybe an old plastic butcher block or dollar store might have one
>>
>>2952874
How are the teeth coming along? Also why did this key resonate with you?
>>
>>2953272
Alright, I guess. I haven't got the promotions right but that's fine.
It's the key from Pirate's of the Caribbean, I saw it and decided to make it
>>
>>2953291
Is that popsicle sticks and cheese?
>>
>>2953291
See you never said you have super glue. Mix it with baking soda, not baking powder, until it's a paste and it's better than resin you can weld that tooth better and fill in other cracks and gaps before painting.

Can you get sandpaper?
>>
>>2953474
I don't have baking soda
I don't know where to get sandpaper
>>
>>2953490
Also who doesn't have baking soda, everyone has baking soda. Like are you being held captive?
Is this second day on earth? So what if you don't know where to get sandpaper, google it and you'll find that you can buy it from any hardware store.
Or are you a college student, completely flat broke, where buying anything to complete a project is mostly out of the question?
>>
>>2953496
im fine with just having this made out of wood
>>
>>2952181
>you must be 18 to post here
>>
>>2953291
I know. From the second movie hahaha very iconic! With your knife you should be able to gently carve the edges and smooth it out
>>
>>2951493
Bake in the oven clay. Super Sculpey (grey). Assuming this is just for cosplaying and not to be functional and that you have a working oven. You can even sand it flatter once hardened. Paint with metallic paint, wash black, dry brush to highlight silver.
>>
Update: I'm done
>>
>>2952976
If we're going to the dollar store, get a metal cookie tray while you're there
