IMO one of the coolest words in the English language. I'm not using a dynamometric key, Im using a TORQUE wrench. I don't even think French Canadians would understand the word "dynamométrique" but surely they understand torque.

All you need is to go up to a fellow man and utter the sound "Torque" and his brain will light up like a chrismas tree, and conversation subjects will flow.

Yeah I had a fixation yesterday on "torque". There is something magical to this word tho. People here don't ever use words like "powerful" they just say that there machine has a lot torque.

> In Latin, torquis means a twisted neck-chain, necklace, collar, wreath, or ring. It is derived from the verb torqueo, which means "to twist" or "to turn," referring to the typical twisted shape of the object. This Latin word is the root for modern English terms like "torc" and "torque"

Oddly enough, "t" and "d" are often switched from the original Latin as time moves on and languages change. The original "torqeo" (the verb that torquis derived from) actually because "dorkeo" in late Latin, and that's where our term "dork" has originated from. As in

>OP is a fucking faggot assed DORK for making this shitty thread

I thought it was neat. Go fuck yourself for being willfully ignorant.

What's the best chink ratchet? Are sockets important or I can just buy some whatever that have the same size as the ratchet?

In Canada you have Mastertrash and Maximum, both of which are canadian tire brands. Maximum is slightly better. Usually if you wait long enough you can get 50% off on sale.
