It is completely stuck.
>>2952057It looks cross threaded. Do you know who worked on it before you?
>>2952057ask a man to do it.
>>2952060>cross threadedI don't know what that means> Do you know who worked on it before youthe ethnically accurate janitor of my apartment building
>>2952057yeah that nut on the drain sleeve is completely crossthreaded; buy a new p trap so you can replace this one when you inevitably have to destroy it. jut get a big wrinch on there an mash it off.
>>2952062>I don't know what that meansare you a girl?
>>2952062Why are you trying to fix this if you live an apartment and are incapable of using basic tools? Are you sure it even needs to be removed?
>>2952064I identify as one.
>>2952065because my sink is clogged and it smells like shit as if stale water has been sitting there for days, I watched youtube video on how to remove it and when they do it it looks super easy but mine is stuck
>>2952067the clog is probably around the stopper and not in the P trap. you might be able to poke something through and open it up enough to drain. this is how my bathroom sinks get clogged all the time.if it's the kitchen and you poured grease down it, you got what you deserved.
>>2952057sometimes I wonder if /diy/ posters actually do anything but post
>>2952061This
>>2952090well when you grow up with no dad, or your dad is not a man...
>>2952090wait so I have to turn the bottom one clockwise ? so it's the opposite of lefty loosey ?
>>2952101It's still lefty in relation to the threads. Think of it like holding a soda bottle upside down and taking the lid off
>>2952103success! sort of. I don't have a pipe wrench so I wrapped straps around the nut, and wrapped the other end around a claw hammer so I could use it as a lever. this time I was turning the right way. it came off, but weirdly there was nothing blocking it. I used a drain snake on the bottom pipe and thick black water came out.I put everything back together and my sink drains slowly but at least it is draining. Is it normal that the bottom pipe is almost horizontal ? shouldn't it be angled downwards so the water can flow down ? now it's almost as if the entire thing is full of water at all times
Please tell me the op was trolling, I can't believe this generation is that helpless
>>2952113ok boomer but don't cry next time you need help downloading a pdf
>>2952117>nooooooooo how can I live without pc
>>2952110>Is it normal that the bottom pipe is almost horizontal ? shouldn't it be angled downwards so the water can flow down ? now it's almost as if the entire thing is full of water at all timesYes, the whole pipe is lower than the point the water enters so it drains fine. The P-trap is supposed to stay full of water at all times as a barrier from gases backing back up into your houseYou can plunge it, fill the basin up with hot water, add some dish soap and plunge lightly. It should help
>>2952063P trap are gay, bottles clearly are the superior choice
>>2952067Likely the sink strainer full of old hair and semenSee if that can be removed and if there's a lot of buildup in there you can pull out. Clean any gaskets while you're at it.You very seldom really have to take the P-trap apart, normally only if there is a leak or the sink is being replaced. If the P-trap is clogged, shove a drain snake in there and rinse. Presto fag-o, the problem is gone.
