Background (can skip): My door has developed an issue on rubbing against the frame, which is especially becoming problematic as the force required to open it is starting to pop the handle out of its socket. I recently discovered what typically creates this fault is misaligned hinges creating a larger gap at the top of the door frame (between the hinges) compared to the bottom, and upon examing this door, that seemed to be the case. So I have to remove the hinge and then realign the hinges, however:Problem: I can't for the life of me get this pin out the hinge. I initially tried to tap it out using a punch and hammer from the bottom up, however after closer inspection, and getting nowhere, it seems like the pin may have been inserted upside-down, as the bottom of the pin appears to be wider than the top. I then tried tapping it out the other way, but also nothing. I've also tried spraying it down with half a bottle of WD-40 to try loosen things up, as well as using pliers; also nothing.Any ideas? Will I just have the take the hinges off completely and get it out that way?
>>2952492Can you unscrew the door from the hinge?
>>2952493no groves
Is this the anon that got trapped in his room last week because of the broken door?Honestly just remove the hinges from the door itself and clean the hinges off, unbolt them from the frame first.
>>2952495>no groveswhat do a large field of trees have to do with anything.
>>2952492You most likely resolve this issue simply my replacing one the screws attaching the top hing to the jamb with a longer screw.
>>2952495Remove the paint. Your choice of wire wheel, paint stripper or just a sharp spike.
>>2952492If you're replacing your door consider replacing it with a concrete door for home self defense. Could be a life saver if youre subject to a home invasion and are unable to reach your self defense weapon in time. Good luck.
>>2952492>WD-40I would try actual penetrating oil
>>2952511Do it for da hood ceejay
>>2952499Yes, I've been living off moths and silverfish for the past several days. Please help me.
>>2952532Would be ideal but I'm quite sure I don't have it.
>>2952553so get somealso whack it harder (the pin, not your bf's cock)
>>2952492I can almost guarantee the hinges aren't your issue. It's been painted over 100 times and probably just moisture has swollen everything up. Take the whole hinges off if you want, you gain absolutely nothing taking the pin out except now you've goobered everything like a slob. Worst case the screws into the jamb or door are stripped and you need to use a longer screw or drill a dowel or insert to grab. Find out where it's touching and shave the door. You don't have to take anything apart or over think this you fucking sperg
