Background (can skip): My door has developed an issue on rubbing against the frame, which is especially becoming problematic as the force required to open it is starting to pop the handle out of its socket. I recently discovered what typically creates this fault is misaligned hinges creating a larger gap at the top of the door frame (between the hinges) compared to the bottom, and upon examing this door, that seemed to be the case. So I have to remove the hinge and then realign the hinges, however:

Problem: I can't for the life of me get this pin out the hinge. I initially tried to tap it out using a punch and hammer from the bottom up, however after closer inspection, and getting nowhere, it seems like the pin may have been inserted upside-down, as the bottom of the pin appears to be wider than the top. I then tried tapping it out the other way, but also nothing. I've also tried spraying it down with half a bottle of WD-40 to try loosen things up, as well as using pliers; also nothing.

Any ideas? Will I just have the take the hinges off completely and get it out that way?

Can you unscrew the door from the hinge?
>>
>>2952493
no groves
>>
Is this the anon that got trapped in his room last week because of the broken door?

Honestly just remove the hinges from the door itself and clean the hinges off, unbolt them from the frame first.

>no groves
what do a large field of trees have to do with anything.
>>

You most likely resolve this issue simply my replacing one the screws attaching the top hing to the jamb with a longer screw.

Remove the paint. Your choice of wire wheel, paint stripper or just a sharp spike.

If you're replacing your door consider replacing it with a concrete door for home self defense. Could be a life saver if youre subject to a home invasion and are unable to reach your self defense weapon in time. Good luck.

I can almost guarantee the hinges aren't your issue. It's been painted over 100 times and probably just moisture has swollen everything up. Take the whole hinges off if you want, you gain absolutely nothing taking the pin out except now you've goobered everything like a slob. Worst case the screws into the jamb or door are stripped and you need to use a longer screw or drill a dowel or insert to grab.

Find out where it's touching and shave the door. You don't have to take anything apart or over think this you fucking sperg

I think those pins are not supposed to be removed. I think they were pressed in there
>>
As you seem quite shit; cut two washers into C shapes, that will only fit around the pin if you hammer them in there

Have your boyfriend lift the door a cm with a lever or crowbar

Hammer those washers into the gap between the hinges, so that they clip around the pin

Or just call an actual man what the fuck do i care

>strip the paint and rust
>wd40 if needed to separate parts first
>clean and grease
/diy has no hope. It's over.

Jesus Christ. The absolute state of your door and hinges... Grim.
>>

This is by far the best answer: Burn the whole place down and start over, it's the only way to be sure.

Since this is the DIY board to accomplish this: 1) obtain match or lighter 2) obtain gas in gas can 3) generously spread gasoline all over your abode 4) light match or lighter and mate it with gasoline 5) get the fuck out of there stat! 6) not responsible for your killing yourself or anyone else or fucking up these instructions in any capacity

This grinds my hinges.
Put wd40 or other thin oil on hinge. Open and close door several dozen times until it moves freely. Grease hinges with some lubricant that will stay there for months or years, like grease.
>>
>>2952492
uninstall the door from the frame, go to home depot and buy new hinges, reinstall the door with new hinges.
1 hour, tops.
>>
>>2952492
If this is a metallic door the simplest thing is to strip the paint around and heat the hinge with a blowtorch.
It will loose up and you will be able to hammer it out
>>
>>2952492
open the door, put a goat's foot under it and push.

Open the door, get on the floor, everybody walk the dinosaur
>>
>>2952492
Get the paint off and take another picture

Do this first!

>My door has developed an issue on rubbing against the frame,
Check frame for being square. Old houses settling will pinch door. Solution is to remove the door casing and the door. Then reframe the door square.
