so I can finally find where THE FUCK the cold is coming from in my room (I can't keep my feet still on the floor for longer than 5 minutes without feeling cold air flow)what am I in for /diy/bros?
>>2952722Do NOT use between the hours of 12 AM and 3AM. It's best to just not look around with it too much, keep it pointed at the floor, find what you are looking for and give it back. Don't act startled if you see anything odd, just pretend you didn't see it and keep going as normal.
They make FLIR units that plug into your phone for like $200
>>2952722>what am I in for /diy/bros?you'll be able to beat Thardus
>>2952722Where did you rent it from?
Pls don't tape over all your air inlets like a 3rd worlder. You need fresh air
>>2952736Those are absolute dogshit, they have like 80x60 resolution. OP's is also VERY overpriced garbage, but at least it's usable garbage, unlike the FLIR. You can buy 190x240 thermal cameras from chinks for $100-$150.
>>2952789It's bitches like you that fuck with natural processesLike evolution
>>2952783From a website where they rent out all kinds of appliances
>>2952722>what am I in forrealizing you have a baddly insulated floor.
>>2952795>Those are absolute dogshit, they have like 80x60 resolutionYou're just wanting to stuff some foam into a crevice here and there, not watch the next MCU movie in imax
>>2952728Listen to this guy. Last year I saw something in human shape standing in front of the root cellar.
>>2952795> muh resolutionDoesn’t matter. You point it at something you see where the cold spot is and then use your eyes to see what the actual thing is. It overlays the camera image too btw. > Theres a long straight cold part between the door and the floor gee I wonder if it could be the fucking doorstep
>>2952831>can buy literally an order of magnitude better device for half the price>"yeah but this is also fine for some things">>2952880>Resolution? Doesn’t matter>FLIR makes a 160x120 camera for $500 and a 320x240 camera for $3000, because the 80x60 is just so good, that nobody ever has to pay those hyperinflated prices
>>2952722I'll save you some trouble. You have a fan blowing air out of your house. Likely in the bathroom. Its pulling air from the rest of the house, causing negative pressure. The air is seeping in through various cracks in the structure. This is by design. If you try to seal up the cracks, you won't get enough oxygen cycling in. You won't die, but it will make you noticeably more sluggish. If you want a decent solution, you need to install an air intake vent in your HVAC system and add a heat exchanger so your heating bill doesn't go through the roof.
>>2952884If you are using the device in a professional setting, you DGAF about the price. And there engineering reasons you might want high res - like like trying to pinpoint a heat source on a circuit board or in an engine. You aren't going to need a 3k camera to fix the insulation on your house.
