I'd like to do my own re-roof of a small older house with semi-complex roof.

But it might take me a while on my own, and area gets fairly frequent rain.

Seems like its possible to do a Bit At A Time re-roof with regular asphalt and fiberglass shingles and tar paper, and could slip paper under existing roof and be OK for a few days, but not sure.

WTF you guys say? Better to hire a roofing company that has a crew to bang it out in 1 or 2 days?

Also, how ghetto is roofing over old roof? IIRC Code is you can have 3 layers of shingles. Seems like that would be good for extra insulation and protection from hail.

also might want to make a artistic pattern, because WTF not. :)

Not this crazy, but maybe 3 subdued colors.

Buy some bigass tarps and learn how to properly anchor them so they don't blow off. Now you can take your time regardless of weather.

its also somewhat 'nado country, so even if not a twister, has frequent "wind storms"
