Whoo boy wait until you discover Icon...
>>

i got this for $10, it's 10 inches and weighs almost the same (480gm)
>>

Their whole website is AI generated. It's no wonder they're making replicas.

So are they any good?

>chinese plastic gives you a rash and then chinese potmetal snaps under load when you need it most
Although I don’t mind the Irwin version. No-name Chinesium is awful, but that’s a tool you could go Irwin or Icon to save a few bucks since you’re not relying on super hardened jaws.
>>
>>2953537
yes! how can two pieces of metal in a scissor configuration be done wrong? They weigh the same, so i'm not questioning the quality of metal being used. so unless presented with proof through comparison, i just saved $40!
>>
>>2953545

tested with a magnet, and had a very strong reaction.

You can't tell the quality of metal by the weight. If it holds up to abuse in comparison to a knipex brand one, then yeah you got a good deal and saved $40. If it bends, strips, deforms, or breaks because of shit quality steel, then it was not a good deal.
>>
>>2953549
agreed. we'll see how this goes. i'm curious if there are any tests we could do with in comparison to the original knipex.

You know what is fun? When you save $40 on a Chinesium tool and fuck up a $200 part because the tool breaks. Or even better, you waste like 8 manhours fixing the thing you damaged with the cheapest possible tool. I love that.

These are the icon knock-offs, considered one of the higher quality knock-offs. I use them as holding pliers on the other side of an impact pretty often, you can see the wear & tear in the jaws. Sometimes it slightly swages the metal and I've knocked those high spots down with a file. They still work fine, but I would expect cheaper chinesium to deform more severely.

The other day I found a felo screwdriver in the old tool box, West Germany.
>>
>>2953505
Ha ha, those jaws are 100% shut without pressure, the knipex ones will only do that with a lot of pressure, and will only close the tip of the jaws when at rest. And yes, by design.

Seethe with your chinesium pliers, knipex rulz

i guess having extra $40 will help make up for the important laser itching.

Oh idk maybe because you retards keep buying shitty knockoffs from China instead of keeping the reputable manufacturers alive?

>being this poor
knipex pricing is pretty straight forward. Everything drop forged and dipped = cheap
Two component handle = +5€ for the worker gluing them on
VDE = + 5€ for them to do the 1000v test
Reddit tools like the tiny plier wrench = +50€ onions tax
Crimper and stripper = Not knipex made, not subject to knipex pricing

>how can two pieces of metal in a scissor configuration be done wrong?
-cheaper steel, lower carbon content, more impurities in the steel. Will break and deform easier.
-will use dies until they're beyond worn instead of refurbing the dies when they need to. Fit and finish suffers.
-cast instead of forged
-material used for the grip is a generic rubber or latex material. Will wear out much faster
-no bonding agent and/or prep between grips and steel, will eventually slide off easily.
-no warranty generally
-giving your money at all to the ccp

All the chinks do is buy a real version, 3d scan it, send the model off to a mold shop, the start pumping them out with close enough materials. They didn't do any of the engineering behind it, they didn't do any of the r&d so they dont actually understand the product. Sometimes they'll even buy used molds that are too far gone for a real supplier and start using them again. With the slant eye jews it's literally always a race to the bottom. China and India need to be nuked off the face of the earth.

Are you a kraut? Even TME that always has the best prices(rapes you on delivery costs) is selling for 44€.

I started my building my knipex toolbox buying comfort grips(mistake, should've gone dipped) and now got fucked because they added retarded rubber to it and I don't like that.

Much better than giving to american shlomos.
>>
>>2953803
well its an imported nieche tool
point being you arent getting raped by the maker but the entire trans atlantic logistic chain, most of their products have sane prices in the domestic market, and often cheaper than the domestc competition
>>
>>2953812
Tfuck you talking about, negreo? Tme is polish and I'm in the EU myself. 44€ before shipping. Amazon has it for 60€. Does knipex DE ships abroad? Because even if they charge 15€/20 for shipping it would still be worth it.

my best guess is sba refers to the packaging type. only thing that matters is the id number on the handle, and there is none with SBA suffix

that was just the cheapest shop listed on idealo

I have no use for those cutters since I already have the based cobolt and the high leverage end cutters but goddamn for 38 pesos is tempting.

I don't understand why they even exist... Dipped is way better imho. I've always hated those fat rubber grips on any pliers of any make.

it's not as bad as india, but if you're coming in wearing shades, shorts and a hat, you're basically a walking target for beggars and scammers. don't go through tourist agencies. coordinate with a local and they'll host you instead (they won't ask for money but don't be a jackass neither). (october / november - march / april) the weather is very good.
