I've been looking at some type of large rolling toolbox since I saw one of my co-workers showing off his Milwaukee pack out. Every brand, even the low level brands like ryobi, charge like $200 - $350 for this. A fucking plastic box with wheels. Are there cheaper alternatives that function the same?

>>2953882Round these parts DeWalt t-stak and Stanley fatmax storage boxes are on sale alot of the time. I've found them pretty good for storage of all the usual tools. Would probably want something stronger on a construction site or carrying heavy duty equipment around but let's get real - the only DIY 99% of /DIY/ does is assembling furniture from IKEA
These all go on sale for black friday. I got the Kobalt version for 99$ and it's very well built.Full price though the cheapest is the Hyper Tough from Walmart. It's on the smaller side. Then craftsman, Ryobi, Bauer and Hart sit just above that.
>>2953886How many layers of cardboard to be able to carry a full load of heavy tools?
>>2953882I bought the mangusson stakkur set (UK) cost me 100 quid (~120 bucks?) feels sturdy enough and probably fine for the infrequent diyer. I wouldn't rate it for daily site use but there was no way I was buying packout or anything
>>2953882Got one of these recently, it's beefy
>>2953886she aint pretty, but she fucks
>>2953969I of course want this one but it's the most expensive of all of them
>>2954003I think I paid somewhere around $160 for the FS1101 model, it's cheaper than the Milwaukee
>>2953882The one on the right looks more brittle than the one on the left, not by much though. >>2953969Seems good, mainly because of the treaded feet.
>>2953977I like fat bottom girls. Warm, wet and squishy. Just wash it first, make it part of the foreplay.
>>2953882I use the rigid boxes and they are awesome. I think it's maybe just under $200 for a set that has a big, medium and small box and then a thing with wheels you can attach and detach as needed. It's super high quality and I can stand on the boxes if needed.
>>2953886I reinforce. My cardboard boxes with packing tape. I also use heavy duty produce boxes. They stack well.
It’s not cheaper but it is a different take on the idea: I got a MakTrak setup for my RC car racing equipment to replace the ubiquitous black 27-gallon totes. The MakTrak stuff kicks fucking ass because you can open any box in the stack even if it’s on the bottom.
>>2953882>buy hand trolley >stick your tooboxes on it>strap down with Nylon™ webbing as necessary easy, simple, quick
>>2953882these looks cool but in reality they can be more of a pain in the ass>90% of the time you only need 10% of it>to access the lower boxes you need to lift off the upper ones>n the back of a van or truck where space is limited they take up waaaay more space than they offer inside>...and once there, getting to that drill in the bottom box for a quick job is a choreso no, i tried such setup once, will never do it again.
>>2953885The Hart ones will let you remove entirely from the front like the higher end ones but aren't quite as largeHalf the price tho
>>2954711Yeah, I only use them for fasteners and materials I keep my tools in accessible tool boxes
>>2953882Rigid makes the best versatile/less expensive tool box of this caliber. Some will claim other boxes are tougher, but I have yet to see these competitors toolboxes put blatant treadmarks to put your feet on when using it as a stool. Literally every stacking toolbox system copied this one after it came out, even dewalt copied it despite having Tstack. Also because of how they're shaped/made it makes them more customizable, you could mount 2X4's to it if you wanted.
>>2956331>falls apart after 3 months of daily use
>>2956331I've never seen these or any rigid tools on a jobsite before (and I see ryobi a lot so that's saying something) but I am curious to give these boxes a try since I hear good things about them online. I'll check them out next time I'm at home depot
>>2956355>No because the latches are actually metal unlike dudewalt and shikita I have had mine for 10 years, I want the new system but they made them both compatible so I get modules. The fact they made them compatible in the first place makes them more based than many. The only other system worth mentioning is Toughbuilt stacktech because those too use actual metal. IMO they're too "tacticool" for a toolbox though,>>2956390>and I see ryobi a lot so that's saying somethingTools yes, because they're cheaper the sunken cost in batteries makes them slaves to the green machine. They also have a shitton of battery tools to chose from. Their tool box looks and functions like gay lego bricks though, everyone copied ridgid for a reason.
the walmart hart brand is good for a few things, like tape measuresbut their packout system is super fucking cheap and slept on. just as sturdy as my milwauke packouts, offroad wheels; can use it as a ladder, etc.not as many modular options, but frankly a rolling bucket, add on bucket, and some organizer bins is all I really need.they got drawers and shit, i haven't tried
>>2956355Had mine for a couple of years being used on jobsites and they are fine, they are really tough. And i treat my tools like shit unfortunatelyOne thing that might turn people off about the rigid boxes is that they are actually made in israel lol but if anything that makes me trust the quality more than milwaukee which is probably made in china
>>2953882I'm moving soon so I said what the hell and got the HF Bauer packout. I have 2 of the wheel bases, the big one, 3 of the smaller ones and the crate. The parts organizer I have no use for because I use the several of the smaller HF yellow and black ones, maybe one day. That's less than $300 total, everything but the bases were on sale when I bought them. Well worth the investment.
>>2953885This man speaks true.
You can get a full stack of Dewalt for less than $200 at home depot
>>2956587And you feel comfortable funding the slaughter of millions of Palestinians?
Fuck that stupid stacking tool chest bullshit. Had one for a month or so before giving it away after I got fed up with stacking and unstacking the things all the time. Get yourself something with drawers, you won't regret it.
>>2956968Made me lol
>>2956968you aint?
>>2957042I can't believe how long it took these companies how to make a plastic box with a fucking drawer in it
>>2957042I just wish that klien rolling drawer box wasn't $200
