Shit like that only works in fantasy.

In reality, getting one leg violently pulled upward from the ankle is going to abrade skin, dislocate joints and maybe break bones. Now imagine your ankle is up in your crotch, your center of gravity flips and you go ass over teakettle, your head accelerating to the floor at 9.8 m/s2. Either you smash your head into the floor or you get ankle is rising fast enough to prevent that and you get a nice huge dose of whiplash. More abrasions to the ankle, verging on ripping the skin and flesh off, not to mention potential concussions.
