Is there any easy way to turn them into half assed cat shelters outside for cold weather? Either individually or stacked somehow? I want to help the kitties but I'm also cheap and lazy.
I bet if you took the lids off two, taped them together hole to hole, and made a kitty door in the bottom of one of them it would become a cathouse. What dimensions do they have?
>cut hole for cat door>secure lid on for ridgitiy>glue pink rigid foam to the interior (if there is enough space) or the exteriorThere's your cat house. If this is too. Much work>put one piece of foam on one inside wall>lay it on its side>cat sized hole in lid>install lid>bury entire structure in something to insulate it
concrete mixed with wax will continue to cure for a year or more. The curing process is exothermic without the wax it takes about 55 days.alternatively you can mix a bunch of iron, insulate the rebar and electrify it. The iron in the concrete becomes a resistive heater and the large mass holds it well. might take 55 days for full cure, before you can electrify.wrap container in aluminum foil put down Styrofoam then pour a concrete pad putting them together is a good idea more cat bodies more cat heat. personally i do not like cats, but ehh, bury the thing. To increase dirt stability and retard frost heave a geo screen material like plastic safety netting interspersed. soo little strips on the sides some over the top, do not just stack plastic net on plastic net separate it with dirt; inches of dirt and stake the net with twigs. the geo screen changes the sheer line and as the dirt settles likely unevenly the screen pulls in different direction tension.i recommend putting them out of their missery as humanly as possible, but the paraffin wax can be dialed in ,so the phase change temp heats at a certain temp. my understanding is the liquid wax encapsulates some of the mix and when it solidifies it cracks exposing it to water starting the curing process producing heat encapsulating the mix again retarded the process. this feedback loop creates a pulse width modulation of high temp chemical heat.
>>2957983They're basically the size of a 5 gallon bucket but a little narrower and rectangular instead of roundDo NOT put them on the ground like that other anon said, with only one entrance that makes them extremely vulnerable to predators. Line the inside with old clothes and blankets and keep them off the ground
why are we enabling invasive vemin species with plastic garbage?
>>2957982I want to know this person's living conditions that they have a large number of cat litter buckets and also have a large number of "stray" cats wandering around. this screams animal hoarding.that said, I also used to get several of these buckets in a month, but that was because I managed an apartment that had several old cat ladies. one of them was awesome: 2 cats, no hair anywhere,. meticulous constant housekeeper, Ø cat odor, baked us brownies and other confections, cooked me lunch occasionally. to be fair; we have some barn cats for pest control. I think there are 5 still around. we feed them about 2 cups of food almost every day. keeps them active as mousers. we don't by litter, little fuckers shit in the garden... assholes. Haven't seen a mouse in or near the house & power shed in 3 years.
>>2958024Ours is not to question why, ours is but to DI, uh, Y
>>2958024 Yeah, because the idea that somebody can already own 2 cats and have lots of leftover cat litter jugs while also having a stray population that I would prefer not to freeze the death on my porch definitely means I'm hoarding animals you fucking retard. Nigger. I bet Both you and >>2958000 based digits serial killer bro fight to figure out who's going to be in bottom. I go though one of these roughly every 1.5 weeks, but since you're obviously retarded I cant assume you'll know how basic logic works. >>2957983>>2957994>>2958010>>2958025Thanks for the inputs, helpful anons. I live in a cold weather area with lots of snow on the ground and I am honestly not in the kind of financial situation where I can buy a bunch of those fancy space blanket boxes off of Amazon so I'm just trying to do what I can to help the local population through the winter since it seems like it's going to be a harsher one. Thank you!
