I live in a noisy neighborhood so I want to install double glazed windows for more sound insulation, thing is I like to leave the window slightly open to get the fresh air coming in, both during summer or winter.
Is there any way to still get the fresh air in without loosing the sound proofing?

kill the people making the sound
>>
>>2962094
You sound impotent and angry about it
>>
>>2962091
Not really, no. I would recommend blackout curtains and planting big bushes in front of the windows that will be open.
>>
>>2962096
Fuck. Any way to circumvent the window problem with vents? Will the noise just come in from there too, just like the breeze?
I love sunlight mate, blackout curtains aren't ideal for me.
>>
>>2962091
Open the windows round the other side of the house
>>
>>2962091
Install a storm door with mesh so you can open your door through the summer

Think about what you're asking for a moment.
>I want to buy extra tough sound barriers because I want quiet
>Also I want to leave these barriers open because reasons
???
>>
>>2962091
Look into heat exchangers
>>
>>2962145
No. OP is asking for how to get fresh air into his house without also letting in the noise. OP worded it poorly.
>>
>>2962091
Probably some sort of sonic cannons that blast away from your house acting as a sort of air sound barrier. Youll have to look online for those
>>
There exists these intake vents that you either need to drill a hole through the wall or into the window hatch. The bougie ones have sound dampeners in them for example velco VLR-125 premium. If you want more fresh air you just have bear the noise coming through the window.

get thicc curtains

>still rocks single pane windows
what the fuck

Mild as fuck weather, not everyone on 4chinz live in frozen shitholes.

Most of the PVC windows you can buy already have built-in passive vents for letting fresh air in, and the way they're designed, they don't let much noise through. If you want more fresh air than that and still have some sound insulation, put a powered vent through the wall somewhere away from the source of the noise. Also buy triple pane windows with argon, they have more better soundproofing and not big price difference from basic bitch double pane.

>Also buy triple pane windows
That will probably have more insulation than my walls since it's red brick, 10cm air gap and plastered brick inside.
>>
>>2962321
It's not just for heat insulation, triple pane insulates sound better also.
>>

>so I want to install double glazed windows
What the fuck do you live in that you somehow still have single glazed windows?
Anyway go for triple glazed, the cost difference should be negligible (glass itself is not an expensive material) and you want low E glass and argon filling for thermal insulation. For sound insulation I think having 3 panes makes a difference over 2 but I have no idea.
At least when I was looking at new windows for the house the difference between double and triple was tiny, like less then 5% on 13000 of windows. All that shit depends on your country though.

2 or 3" vent from outside into your cold air return
>>
Lüften.
Open all the windows completely in the morning or evening to circulate all the air and freshen it up. Leave them closed the rest of the time. Still worth getting new windows though.
>>

>argon filling
I've heard that shit leaks out on it's way from the factory.

>For sound insulation I think having 3 panes makes a difference over 2
What matters more is that each pane is a different thickness, which helps block out sound at different frequencies. So 2 panes with different thicknesses would perform better than 3 panes of the same thickness.
>>
>>2962091
does an ordinary wood double glazed window also block sound well? how do you sound proof noise through a concrete wall?
>>
acoustic vents
>>
>>2962091
>I want to install double glazed windows for more sound insulation
right. bad news anon. I have double glazed windows. it does nothing to diminish or block sound.
>>
>>2962108
>vents? Will the noise just come in from there too
my vents are on the apex of my roof when I'm taking a shit, I can hear people talking in the neighborhood through it.

>What the fuck do you live in that you somehow still have single glazed windows?
any house built before the late 80's.
>>
>>2963291
conversely they can probably hear you poopoo

you wish

I wish I was a little bit taller. I wish I was a baller. I wish I had a girl who looked good,
I would call her.
