Adding to the sage advice already in this thread : learn about quadrants. Mentally divide the wheel into quadrants, top, right, bottom, left. The rotation will pull the tool in a different direction in each quadrant. The tool jumps because you are pulling in one direction, then you are moving contact to a different quadrant but can't adjust your pull fast enough. The goal is to not change quadrant.This also applies to flappy discs.
