The media makes fun of of people who steal shoes. But in my city there are a lot of shoeless individuals running around in urban areas. This must make it very hard to get and keep good jobs. How can I make cheap footwear to hand out in my city?
Being shoeless is just another symptom of the same cause of why they're unemployable. I appreciate your empathy anon but your efforts will be wasted
If you're trying to make shoes I think the best you could do in bulk is some India/Africa tier sandals made out of tire tread and cloth straps. Unless you are skilled as a cobbler, I don't think you can make shoes that are good enough for someone to get a job, and it wouldn't be any cheaper than they can already get them. It depends on where you are, but in the US you can get $10 shoes at Walmart. Anyone here going barefoot does so because that $10 went towards liquor.
Making shoes is quite the task, unless you go with a really primitive type of sandal. You're better off buying thrift store shoes in bulk; the world is lousy with surplus shoes. This way you get the benefit of getting more use out of something that's already made, you get a more presentable shoe, and you don't spend all your life sewing and gluing trash together for people who won't appreciate your hard work at all.
>>2963465>How can I make cheap footwear to hand out in my city?yes enable to druggies and crazy people to stay on the street. excellent!
>>2963465>How can I make cheap footwear to hand out in my city?you will never do this. if you do you should be beaten.
>>2963465>This must make it very hard to get and keep good jobswhat a load of shit. shoes can be got from thrift stores for pennies on the dollars. bums, crazies, and druggies are "homeless" because they are incapable of getting a job, holding a job, paying bills or otherwise even attempting to fit in with society. all you will do is encourage them to stay "homeless" and create a sense of entitlement.not one single person you give shoes to will ever look for or even try to get a job. also who would hire a druggy?
>>2963465Homeless people are mentally ill. If they do not wear shoes, it is because their mental illness prevents it, not because they can't legally find any
>>2963477>druggies and crazy>>2963481>homeless>>2963484>mentally illI see those too. But I am talking about individuals who seem actively engaged in society. They are alert, talking to groups, running around, or riding the subway. I think they have the energy level necessary to get a job, but would never get hired with dirty bare feet.
>>2963465
pic related keeps people on their heels, not on their balls. i think that will reduce impulsive action.
>>2963465If you have access to scrap nylon cord (no steel belts) small tires you can cut simple "Ho Chi Minh" style sandals which are quite rugged and easily repairable. I suggest engaging a local tire shop because products made from their reliable supply of scrap tires are pure win for them. I suggest proofing your sandalmaking process with local help so they can make and sell rugged work sandals for profit to other poors for barter including other labor.Poor people without jobs have TIME so find ways they can use that profitably.A fine way to improve your community is to improve yourself then volunteer to educate the willing. That gets you a self-selected population who WANT to do better and just need to know how. Most humans are bipedal sand bags.Identify what skills people need to earn money in your location and what enables learning. The greatest enabler is LITERACY because literacy enables learning what one needs as one needs it. If you can teach useful languages (is your area Francophone, Anglophone, Chinkophone etc?) you change a lot more livesbecause education is power. Be sure what you do does not disrupt anyone else's useful processes. Power in society is given, not taken. For example vast donations of cheap used Western clothing destroy local fabric and clothing makers.
>>2963485did it ever occur to you to mind your own business.no good deed goes unpunished.
>>2963465Buying premade shoes in bulk will be cheaper and higher quality than anything you can make. The skills required to make high quality shoes take a nontrivial amount of time and experience to acquire. Also don't forget socks. Homeless people go through them quickly and usually have to just throw them out because of how nasty they get and without them the shoes aren't very useful. The demand for them was way higher than for g+food when I used to do service work for the homeless, especially during the winter.
>>2963500>reduce impulsive action. This makes sense, but I am not sure many of the local barefoot will accept them.
>>2963471pretty much thisand lots of kooky people will choose to go shoe-less.lots of like you say "social and energetic" people choose to not "work", no matter what, out of choice and there is a sigma to "going in" (into Social Services to get free housing)some not to crazy people have an strong aversion to shoes. I've heard of Orientals working on roofs in bare feet "so no fall". If you work in an office among Jeets that lets them run wild, most will go barefoot if allowed.>Making shoes is quite the task, this, Nike once offered schools "design your own shoes and see how shoes are made" but got turned down because "Where does this fit in our program?". Sounds like it would be cool and educational.
>>2963689PS- and "good enough" shoes are dirt cheap at Walmart. There ain't a job in the world that you wont "pass" in these shoes, for less that pack of cigs. Except "Steel Toe Required" but they also got those for less that a bottle of cheap booze or three packs of cigs. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Athletic-Works-Men-s-Running-Sneakers-Sizes-8-13-Wide-Width-Available/5368267125?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=1615&gclsrc=aw.ds&adid=222222222775368267125_117755028669_12420145346&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=501107745824&wl4=pla-394283752452&wl5=9032029&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=5368267125&veh=sem_LIA&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=12420145346&gclid=CjwKCAiA0eTJBhBaEiwA-Pa-hQbDOnOkGHAFsYcHSvnnuvsPa5Re0hXDgD95F8po4eZgWHJmxNsq4RoC2VwQAvD_BwE

>>2963689>If you work in an office among Jeets that lets them run wild, most will go barefoot if allowed. When you see a video with sparks flying and giant chunks of red hot metal with pajeets running around in green flip flops, you know magic is gonna happen
First off, those people are shoeless because they sold their shoes for drug money.Second off, you shouldn't focus on making shoes for these fuckers, just buy tons of used shitty shoes from resale shops and give them out, it will be far more economical and easier as well.
>>2963465Car tyre sandals, plenty of old used rubber no one wants. I've also seen them with cordage weaves on the top which is kind of neat
>>2963850I would love a pair of those, but I can't find any on Amazon.
>>2963854>Amazon.cheeky cunt!
>>2963543>local barefoot will accept them.the local barefoot have high standards for their shoe styles.
>>2963920I see them sprinting across the streets, dancing, and fighting. Those heavy clogs just wouldn't work for that.

Better to hand out machetes than shoes.
You should buy shoes from AliExpress. That'll be the cheapest place. Cheaper than building them from tyres even.Walmart just dropships AliExpress anyway at this point. Cut out the middleman.
>>2963973>dancing, and fightingBut aren't you trying to incentivize working?
>>2963471he means well. Let him try & learn.
>>2964020Yes, but acclimating these individuals to wearing shoes daily is a vital first step.
John 13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.Jesus was not too proud to wash another's feet. Providing decent shoes and socks is equally ennobling.
>>2963465Posts like these sound so earnestly naive and sincere that they seem like actual trollingAs if it was the lack of shoes keeping them the shoeless from holding "good jobs."
>>2964245Obviously it is more than a lack of shoes. But there is nothing wrong with helping where you can.
>>2963465id rather not wear shoes u a bitchdey fucken free, da people, and u wanna enslave dem in shoesu fucken stupid bruh
>>2964349>id rather not wear shoesThat shouldn't be too difficult.>u wanna enslave dem in shoesTake that up with Michael Jordan.
>>2963477Well they are shoeless now and still on the street. You will always be closer to being homeless than being a millionaire, retard.
>>2965419Doubt. All I would have to do is well all my assets to be a millionaire. I would have to somehow lose all my assets to be homeless.
>>2963500Never a good idea to act on your balls
>>2965421Even if you lose all of your assets, you wouldn't be homeless if you were willing to cooperate with the system.
>>2965430True dat, so it would have to be a ton of horrible decisions one after another on my part cascading into homelessness.
>>2963838> just buy tons of used shitty shoes from resale shopsDidn’t some docs from Nike get released that implied it costs them $2.50 to make a pair of shoes?Problem solved.
>>2963541what if he turns it into a business
Do you live in the third world? Only third worlders hire people based on if they own shoes. Let alone steal shoes in the first place.
>>2965579Your country hires applicants with dirty bare feet?
>>2963465Try making wooden slippers or just buy from china a lot of cheap knockoffs, especially now they tend to be alright, I guess that would be more cost effective unless you teach the poor people in your city how to make them, it just depends on how far you are willing to walk...> TFW you want to be there for your community but you really don't want to be too deep into helping them but you are board and want to do something diy for some reason...Here is diy version of wooden slippers:https://www.instructables.com/Making-wooden-sandals-Scholls-style/
>>2963465Buy them prison shoes
>>2963465Just buy them used shoes from fb marketplace
>>2965988>https://www.instructables.com/Making-wooden-sandals-Scholls-style/Oh this is pretty cool, clog making used to be common, they used to use alder soles with a leather upp.
>>2964349Good thing this attitude is spreading. Watching them steal shoes is getting boring.
>>2963465Make flip flops out of old tires
3d printed crocs
>>2963465>shoeless individuals running around in urban areasIsn't there broken glass all over the place?
>>2963465In my city the unemployed running around in urban areas are giant shoe queens.
>>2963465Just make them out of old tires. There is a reason why old tires are thrown away, they're extremely useful DIY material.
>>2966701What city do you live in where there is broken glass all over the place?
>>2963471how can you appreciate if you tell him its a waste of timeYou sound like a hypocrite
>>2966865dey glass all dem citys all over da streetu wanna pick dis up?u fucken stupid bitch
I heard Nike’s manufacturing cost from leaked documents was around $2.50 per pair, for Nike Air… that was years ago, they probably go the cost down even further by now.
>>2966863used tires are thrown away because they're useless and toxic.
>>2966933> useless and toxicI wonder where all the rubber goes when tires wear down? There must be over a hundred pounds per year put into the air
>>2966863>old tiresThose have steel wires sticking out the edges that flay the legs and ankles of the wearer.
>>2963471This>>2963465Op, I don't know what shit hole you live in, but you can get foam flipflops for just a few burger bucks. Off brand blvhink sneakers are equally affordable. There's literally no excuse in not having feet coverings other than having spent all of their money on drugs.
>>2963465the people stealing shoes aren't stealing them out of necessity you fucking moron
>>2967178>Those have steel wires sticking out the edges that flay the legs and ankles of the wearer.Sounds awesome. How do I make a ton of them for the local crackheads?
>>2967028In the soil, your food, and your balls
>>2967607Then why are so many barefoot?
>>2963465The homeless are mentally ill and that often goes hand in hand with alcohol and drug abuse. They don't work because they can't work and you are wasting your time and money. Let the government worry about this problem and go help your friends and family instead of wasting your resources. Plenty of children would appreciate you beyond belief if you sponsored their extra curriculars. I purchased a Cello and a Violin for a brother and sister before covid and both of them are applying for college now with scholarships for music. They both sent me a christmas card this year and it made me feel like i actually made a difference. Fuck the homeless.
>>2967697>they can't workThey can pick agricultural products from plants and trees.
>>2967820>They can pick agricultural products from plants and trees. No only the mexicans can do that, that's why we need to import them in droves. Can't you keep up with the liberal talking points? Who will pick our food if we don't let thousands of illegals in?
>>2963465Plasti-dip socks have become popular and cost pennies to make.
>>2963477>yes enable to druggies and crazy people to stay on the street. excellent!based shit stirrer
>>2963465let me teach you something about homelessness.i used to be a rainbow warrior. a hippie on the streets. european union.in summer you can go to sweden. but in winter you need to be in greece, or portugal or morocco.i read that homeless people stink, in some comment.well... you see the homeless people on the streets. they are unhealthy. go to the country. homeless need a tent. then they can improve their standards of living by being in nature. get a tent you can lock at the zippers with a tiny lock. so the homeless has a proper home he can lock.don't get him a tent he has no proper bag to transport it in. i once had a cheap tent in a cheap duffle-bag. i never used these firm tightening plastic wraps to store tents. next day you have the same hastle.as for the stink: they need afer-shave. you can go weeks without shower if you only use this. and you don't stink when auto-stopping.as for shoes: some prefer to have no shoes. in fact... it is quite easy to get yourself food and also clothes. you just need to check the containers where people throw away their clothes for charity. some are overfilled and you can claim the stuff next to it.food... is embarassing and i prefer to get invited rather than asking at restaurants for leftovers. but food is easy.to survive is easy. to have a living with jets and free travel any time is difficult.also... i mean... i was a noble homeless.... i have seen people, you wouldn't believe... thieves to the utmost. the worst of gypsies. there is a reason why they are outcast.i know you said, you check them for fit, before supporting them (don't help, but support).if i put myself in the shoes of a homeless and needed some shoes, i would go in a city, tell people i needed shoes, and where to get some. and then... i would simply ask for shoes. and you can be sure... very sure... someone will have shoes for you. especially if you claim that you need them to find work. claim.
>>2968383i also like a pan.and an alcohol burner, as you can buy alcohol in any region but not so with gas.alcohol... methanol. goes by different names...sleeping bag. iso-mattress. and you are good to go.
>>2968383i remember... i once invited a homeless in Tarapoto, Peru, for food. just some random bakery.he cried his soul out. saying he had not eaten from a plate in years. calling me an angel.then he was embarrassed and avoided me. but he liked me. i know that.
>>2968383before I call it a quits...here are some stories from the street:When Thor was in Athens and he had no money, he got himself a sex-doll and put her on the street. As a living statue. With clothes and everything. Completely concealed. And the people gave her money. Thor, of course, had just been fooling around with his friend. And when he saw the money, he "changed dimensions". Got her Bluetooth speakers and told people from across the street the future. I imagine you could use an intercom. But he used recordings "Godd/neutral/bad future" and laughed at the reactions. If you have a buisness on the streets... first: you must like it. It doesn't help if you hate it. People will feel it.Second: take soap bubbles. A great recipe is difficult to attain and a well guided secret. You need wool threads and you need fishing rods. And often people forget to tell you essential things. you best get it shown.if you are cold, eat some food. the stomach, as the saying goes, is working, and heats alongside your normal movement.
>>2968383>someone will have shoes for youYes I want to be that person but I can’t afford much.
>>2968403i know of one saint who refused anything given to him.he lived also on the streets. without a bag, even. i offered to buy him the tent and all. he refused.
>>2963500I actually bought a pair of Geta recently and the design is just stupid. Both of those wood blocks/teeth are too far back, so you can't really put any weight on the ball of your foot without flaling forwards. The rear one is right up against where the strap connects to the body, but the front one is needlessly far back.I know the nips love their tradition, but it seems intentionally shitty because it's such an easy fix.
>>2968530What about tengu geta? Always thought these would be a bit of fun to try and figure out...
>>2963465Injection molding is the cheapest way to make shoes.
