I work for a company installing garage doors, I'm not that competent and it feels like I do a dead end job with no room for growth.Starting from here what kind of services could I offer if I wanted to work for myself doing some handyman stuff? I own all kinds of tools already.
>>2964964Move on to window fitting and installation?
>>2964964Fixing garage doors is one of dozens(literally) of trades/handyman tasks that can by itself get you $1000 a day if you happen to slap a logo on your lifted truck and act like a chad
>>2964980This. Very few people are willing to work on broken garage doors. So they gladly hire it out. Easy $500 or more per job.
those springs are dangerous as fuck
>>2964964What would i need to do to get those springs to explode and kill me?
>>2965014yo, seems like it would be an easy segway into elevator biz, elderly care is growing so elevators or maybe the itallian way and they start using monorails.
>>2964964>I'm not that competent>Starting from here what kind of services could I offer if I wanted to work for myselflmao nothingbut other responses are legit if you didn't suck
>>2964964Well what do you like to do?Wood? Paint? Landscaping? Bend over?
>>2965014They aren't if you're not a retard.
>>2965014Some doors are thrice as thick and large, it gets pretty spooky winding them.bans puts lots of strain on your shoulder.>>2965144If I could choose it would be farm work but there's no money there and I don't have a farm myself. I like scaffolding but they require proper training.>Captcha trying to filter meWell I'm smart enough to post on 4chan at least.
>>2964980This.Get competent at it first. I work as a handyman and I've made money just knowing how to tweak what's already installed, and knowing why their garage keeps going up and down at a certain time of day and picrel.
>>2965254>and knowing why their garage keeps going up and down at a certain time of daydo share
>>2964964Laminate flooring replacement?I did mine myself. It's a bitch to do it around doorways and have a continuous look.
>>2965367NTA but, as the sun rises and sets, it can shine on the photo eyes and stop the receiving eye from, we'll, receiving. Those things in the photo are basically sunlight blockers, but swapping the eyes around usually fixes the issue. Remember: if your opener wont close the door but you can hold the wall button and the door is able to come down, that's a photo eye misalignment.>>2964980$1000/day no shit? I'm a commercial install/service technician, get treated shitty by my shitty company that doesn't give a fuck about me, and have shit ass hours, and make $30/hr with no negotiation for the next 8 months, apparently. So I'll be monitoring this thread, especially as I don't suck at it.
>>2964964are garage doors too complicated to fabricate on your own >>2965014are those supposed to be like counterweight
>>2965028There are easier ways to go desu. Take care of yourself friend.
>>2965561I just want the last thin ibhear before i die to be, BOING!
