In Texas, auto parts stores and scrap yards pay $15 for each stolen car battery. Plus the scrap yards will buy the cables. Thieves bust the drivers window with a spark plug, pop the hood, then cut out the cables with bolt cutters. My car has a factory cable with multiple wires and costs $279-. My neighbors and I are struggling to stop this in our Houston area. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Shoot the thieves in their faces.

Do you want deterrents or solutions? For deterrent, install cameras in obvious locations that overlook the car. For solution, >>2968569

You are in Texas for fuck's sake. One all-nighter for you and your neighbors, and you could legally resolve your problem permanently.

If you choose to park outside then remove your battery.
>>

How is JaQuarvius going to know there is no battery in the car? He is still going to do all the damage to get to it.

Booby trap the lever that pops the hood. How you do that is your choice. I would choose bird shot to minimize collateral damage. It might be better to use compressed air instead of black powder. You could also electrify the hood lever.

I am concerned that these won't stop my window from getting broken. But it is the best idea yet.

No, Magnolia Park
>>
>>2968570
> For solution
That’s not a solution to the overall problem.
The real solution is free and unrestricted fentanyl and carfentanyl made available to those that want it for free and in unlimited quantities.
Then, the problem will kind of “solve itself” along with a bunch of other problems.

Leave your hood open. JaQua is only looking to steal easily redeemed items.

Buy a ford escape then watch them spend an hour trying to remove the battery.

They will do $1,000s of damage.

Can you do any fabrication? Would make something that locks over the interior hood release. Must be removed to open it.

boil potassium and dunk your window in it. fills in the gap and/or replaced the sodium in the glass structure turning it into gorillia glass, it is soviet tech that corning ware made into a widely prevalent product. not suitable for emergency egress glass
do no try this at home.
packing tap lamination of your window inside and out should reduce breakage, but not safe for emergency exit egress.
the painting of eyes and/or the entire face has compelling evidence that it reduce crime, i assume you'll want to use an anglo features to maximize the batman effect opposed to african.
parking under a street light reduces crime, loud noises outside of the assailant control will increase their anxiety,
south african used to lead in unique car theft deterrent system famous for the aftermarket flame thrower.

I got hit so had to get better alarm and my latch rerouted to inside the glove box. was like $200 same as a new battery

>>2972137
But once they cut the positive cable, the alarm shuts off.

>>2971800
Don't do this. It makes mustard gas.

>>2968568
Move to a better area. If a criminal wants to get into your shit and take your shit, they're going to find a way to do it.
>>
>>2968568
Hide battery. Leave original battery compartment empty with two dummy chopped of cables hanging there.
>>
>>2968568
park your car in a compound. Have cameras on the compound and an alarm wired fence. Needs to be anti-human fence not a livestock or deer fence.
>>
>>2968568
Buy a sodium battery or attach some kind of distance sensor with a bomb, some poisonous gas sprayer or whatever to your current battery
>>
Maybe call ICE?
>>
>>2969205
No the problem is Narcan, which is the reason so many of these retards are running around (well, stooping around I guess) causing trouble instead of dead from OD years ago.
>>
>>2968570
>install cameras
cameras don't do anything against the hooded. Plus, cops won't respond to car burglaries.
>>
One time i did a job where theives were stealing wires from the electrical pipe that went from the meter to the roof. So we replaced thw wires and filled the pipe with expanding foam so they couldn't take the wires. They obviously tried again but couldn't get the wires out so now we had a pipe with cut wires in it that we couldn't replace. So we had to replace the entire pipe and wires. Which was way more expensive than just replacing the wires again.

If you live in an area with lots of breaks ins the only solution is to drive around in a car with bulletproof windows and tires and a protected undercarriage and live in a bunker with a bunch of cameras and lights so you can watch the criminals rob you, or move.

Can't keep moving forever. My neighborhood was crime free 5-years ago.

Just move to a first world state. It’s not like you need a visa.

Not move out of the neighborhood. Move out of Texas.
New England and some parts of the (mid)west are the only first world parts of the USA. You’re basically living in Soviet Russia. TX is literally a third world failed state that ekes by on federal handouts stolen from other states.
>>
>>2974630
>My neighborhood was crime free 5-years ago
Yes, it was. Texas used to be awesome, then all the liberals in Cali that decided that they no longer wanted to live in the crime-ridden shithole that they created started migrating to Texas, and they're now fucking up that state with the very same policies. Your only 2 options are to stay where you are and try to cope with living in a crime-ridden shithole, or move somewhere else.

>Limited data for 2024 were available for Florida
What? The state that's known for the public nature of police records?
>>
>>2974664
Its only the hicks* moving out. There isn't anyone in the cities complaining about how the culture has changed and 'Cali isn't the same anymore'. As the cities expand and everything near them becomes a bedroom community the red county shitlords are leaving. Where is redneck Mecca? Texas. So they mount their MAGA flags on their lifted Chevys, hook up their double-wides, and convoy out to Texas complaining about gas prices the whole way.

But where are all the Yuppie shilords that can't afford Cali anymore moving to? Oregon, not Texas. It is closer, is already full of yuppies, has no sales tax, and the weather is better. Ain't nobody from the California coastal areas (IE the cities) trying to get heat stroke in 100% humidity out in Texas.

You leave the windows down with nothing inside the car but a few coins in cup holder (so they take the easy "win" and move on).
>>
>>2976154
>just leave the windows down
You must not live in an area with individuals experiencing homelessness. It take's a court-order to get the bum out of your car and by then it's ruined.
>>
>>2976241
I mean, true. Here they'd freeze to death even inside a car with the windows up.
>>
>>2976241
>It takes a court-order
I'm calling BS. Any cop will gladly rip a homeless individual from your car.
>>
>>2976288
Only if there is evidence of break-in. Otherwise the homeless gentleman will claim you gave him permission. Then it becomes a civil case and the cop leaves.
>>
>>2976300
If you live in a jurisdiction where the cops take any fucking excuse to walk away, then they also aren't going to give a fuck if you settle things "civilly." You can't play this quantum game where literally everyone in this hypothetical is here, specifically, to screw you over.
Besides, most homeless people will leave the second it looks like a confrontation is starting. That's the reason they are on the streets, because the shelters are overrun by the ones that are actually willing to shank each other over "their spot".
>>
>>2976306
>You can't play this quantum game where literally everyone in this hypothetical is here, specifically, to screw you over.
lolwut. Every cop says to lock your car with the windows up.

Unfortunately, your engine bay is not covered by the castle doctrine here.
