The US keeps the nuclear launch codes (gold codes) inside a break-away tamper-evident plastic seal. There are like two possible form factors:>One where the plastic is broken by delaminating the two halves>One where the plastic is broken by snapping the whole thing like a chocolate barThey also come in opaque vs transparent.I want such things for keeping the recovery key to my password manager among other things.I can't find much.Scene from Wargames (1983):https://youtu.be/s6aCpS0-yls&t=193Rick and Morty seems to illustrate a faithful imitation of the real thing in "Morty's mind blowers" https://youtu.be/8_-b_En3p3cThere's this 3D print:https://www.printables.com/model/460032-nuclear-launch-code-money-giftThis guy made reproductions based on props from "Crimson Tide" and "Wargames", using laser-cut acrylic: https://www.therpf.com/forums/threads/crimson-tide-wargames-nuclear-launch-authentication-cards.347099/And I've unsuccessfully tried to make one from toploaders, which are for protecting baseball cards and are too flimsy to break in a reliable fashion. These are the sort I used, trying different scoring patterns: https://ultrapro.com/products/3-inch-x-4-inch-clear-regular-toploaders-25ct-for-standard-size-cardsI've looked on Amazon, Ebay, and Aliexpress.>Is this shit censored by the government? It's plastic stationery that everyone could stand to use.>Surely, many governments use this type of thing, and even some big businesses, right?Any avenues appreciated~
>>2968791Just get it laser cut from acrylic? The second form factor is easy. Two solid sheets, plus one with a rectangular cutout for whatever youre going to put in it, then chemically bond them together with acryfix. If you want a ‘snap line’ either have the outer pieces engraved, or put some notches on the sides.

my low cost, low effort solution: put it inside a plastic case and dip the whole case in either paint, nail polish or shellac. you can paint a security pattern on top as well.
>>2968818>the New Shit is tamper evidence seals and you can buy that shit anywhereYou're right, I think I'll be using tamper-evident labels on paper envelopes, maybe with aluminium foil or something else on the inside for increased opacity. Thanks :D
>>2968922they already make envelopes specifically for putting into other envelopes to increase opacity, as well as just thicker/colored envelopes in the first place. are you underage?
>>2968925Are you asking me if I'm underage just because I'm not particularly familiar with envelope lore?, or because I used a “:D”? Either way, I ain't underage.I recognize this sort of envelope and even bought one to mail a key at one point, but I've never seen one within another envelope, and they definitely don't come with instructions specifying their intended uses, unfortunately, so I didn't know this, so thank you for informing me, genuinely~But I suspect they don't hold a candle to aluminium foil when held in front of a candle (pun intended) for my specific purpose.>colored envelopesI do know about those, but had I not, I would have been delighted to learn of them from you! Don't go thinking I was about to waste an opportunity to add color in my life to fight Big Gray :D

Couldn't you write down the password, wrap it in foil, and run it through a hot laminator? That way the pouch would have to be cut open to get it out and obviously destroyed.
Nobody wants the password to your tranny porn collection folder OP.
>>2968791that's great but does it actually force you to change the code now that it's out?
>>2969166Onhonhon!It indeed does not. That part of the security chain will have to be taken care of by procedures, i.e. me constantly checking that the seal(s) hasn't been broken and changing the password if it has.
