>>2972309WTF DIY wears a watchDESU, if I did I'd wear a woman's watch just because smallerbig "macho" seems height of gay and fem, in reality
>>2972318A wristwatch would be useful if you are roofing or doing anything where a phone might be a problem. But the post is just weird for this board and should be deleted.
i look at the sun and can tell when it's time for lunch and when it's time to go home.

One of my casios. Don't know where my green f91w went
>>2972309This is not /fa/WTF does this have to do with /diy/?
>>2974633You can buy an ebauche such as a 7750 or equivalent and make your own watch - thus bringing the topic on topic, as it were. There is also openmovement:https://openmovement.org/
>>2972309I work with machine tools so I can't wear one on my wrist when in the ship, so I rigged this up with an old Casio and a carabiner keychain thing that happened to be the right size.

these were scratched up to shit and had broken strap holes when i got them out of the fuck it bucket, so i fixed them up. top side was patched up with a 3d pen, bottom was beyond saving so i cut it out and replaced with a 3d printed part, plus some polish and a cheap band and they are back to being my daily driver. finding 22mm bands is so easy now with smartwatches around, used to be a nightmare when i wore those in high school. the bottom side is supposed to hold a microsd, but i printed it too tight and couldn't be assed to reprint it so it's just got a niche o' potential slowly filling up with human dust.
>>2972309Nice try Ahmed.

>>2974468Wearing a watch face down is as cringe and gay as it gets.

$20 off amazon good daily beater and kayaking with it has proven it to be actually waterproof
>>2974633There’s a genre of watches known as “tool watches”. It’s cool to see what people have on their wrists when swinging a hammer or whatever.
The F91w Bin Laden watch. But most of the time I use a smartwatch due to the convenience.
>>2974721basedI knew /diy/ needed a watch thread

>>2972309>post your watchI don't wear watches anymore they are a symbol of having to be somewhere at sometime. I am free now.

Seiko Presage Japanese Zen Garden
Didn't expect to see a thread here about that while I'm actually trying to DIY a watch.Strap is from a Tissot, PCB from JLC, body milled on a CNC from Al, display is from an 0.96 inch OLED module
>>2980061You're too much of a pussy to pull the trigger.
>>2980762a bullet is too good for you
>>2975733That's a really nice watch. What's it made of, and how much did it cost?
>>2980807Pussy confirmed. Guncucks talk a big game but will never be man enough to pull the trigger.
>>2981179cocked the gun on yer mum last night she pulled the trigger and got shot in the face
>>2981194You're incapable of pulling any women.
>>2979406Pretty much this. If I absolutely need to know the time I can look at my phone. Most of the time I don't.
>>2972309So fucking pissed. I have essentially this watch but with a shitty resin body. Springbar ripped the fuck out of the socket now I can't wear it anymore. I contacted Casio, and the official casio repair company in north america, and they don't want to sell me the stainless steel case + crystal. I have the part number, nope. They are only willing to take in my watch, and repair it with another shit resin case.Sell me the fucking metal one you fucking faggots. Fuck you.
>>2980445You mill it yourself? This is me >>2981479Do you install the crystal yourself?
G shock I got for Christmas awhile back. Has been awesome. Only downside is the minute marks are not painted with luminous paint so I can’t really tell the exact time at night. Thinking about doing it myself.
i got picrel during a major discount. fits my scrawny wrist >>2982028>Thinking about doing it myselfplease don't ruin a beautiful thing >>2974721i like the watch face, but what's the story behind the buckle?
>>2982145>i like the watch face, but what's the story behind the buckle? It's a $2 keychain that happened to be the right width for the lugs. I wear a shop apron when machining and have the watch clipped and tucked into the chest pocket since wearing a wristwatch while running machines is risky.
used to rock the 'shock but I got into running recently and wear a garmin. I miss the gshock, wore it every day for 5 years
>>2982222the forerunner is nice for tracking literally everything and the watch face mimics the gshock, kind of
>>2972309
>>2981479Myself long time Casio 3234 aficionado, my first one was indeed made of metal. But as I buy a new one every ten years or so, last have been all made of grey plastic, albeit nicely metal-coated.
>>2982222>wear a garmingarmin as a daily driver?
>>2983178yeah, quit smoking and started running and wanted to track my changes over time
Assembled it myself from cheap parts I've ordered from china
>>2983189I hope you don't wear the Garmin outside of working out.
>>2980445Very nice. How bad was the machining cost for the case? How many did you order?>>2979432Last I heard from them, their crowdfunding failed to get support for a prototype run. They need to work on ways to market their stuff to manufacturers and upstart watch brands.>>2983279Now start making parts of the watch. Dials aren't too bad
>>2983317
>>2983319So far I've done blade cut cardstock (cricut), laser cut cardstock, and etched brass. I don't like the scorched edges that laser cut cardstock gives but it does let me get finer detail.
>>2983315I do. care to elaborate your vagueposting?
