Retard here, can I replace this without soldering
>>2975579Si seƱor, cut it out and use any of the following to connect it back together: sharkbite fittings, compression fittings, press fittings, JFC glue, brazing, welding
>>2975579>three abandoned lines>that dead leg>that corrosionWhat makes you think the rest of the pipes are any better?
Three shark bites.
>>2975579Why not just solder it? Even if you don't currently have a torch, flux and lead-free solder, you can buy all that for the price of most of these options. >>2975579and have it on hand for when the rest of your pipes fuck off.
>>2975579lol why the fuck is there just a random spot of corrosion on just one area of the pipe
>>2975695Must have a vinegar-soaked rag or something hanging on it. Or perhaps some heat tape that melted through.
if you are going to use non soldering connectors, make sure the pipe is not being used as ground after the connection. If it is, you are going to lose your grounding.
>>2975695Looks like galvanic corrosion. Maybe some smart ass wrap some other metal around it?
>>2975695Maybe the coolant line just above the pipe is causing condensation in that area.
>>2975695lot of wires near it, maybe some sort of electrolytic thing was going on? looks like recent work was done so who knows what was in the area prior.
if you insist on not solder, a copper crimping tool is ~115$looks like you'll have more reapirs to do in the future and it's worth investing injust know crimp fittings are 10x price solder fittings
