>>2980398Go apply PVC glue, twist it 45 degrees, let it set and try to get it apartGet back to us
>>2980403Sir, that is primer not glue
>>2980404That anon probably doesn't use primer, either, so he had no idea what it is or that it even exists.
>>2980404Ok, yeah that sounds like a total scam. Never used it, just figured it was a different color PVC glue
>>2980398always use primer for pressurized water lines but we dont use primer for drain pipe
>>2980410>always use primer for pressurized water linesNever have. Never had an issue.
>>2980413yet
>>2980413It’s purple for the inspectors to see.
>>2980417theres also clear primer, now whos idea was that
>>2980418>theres also clear primer, now whos idea was thatThat's for when you're not getting an inspection done and don't want the ugly purple shit staining everything...
>>2980398I rather take 15s more than risk dig a 4ft hole in frozen dirt because some random joint fucked up.
>>2980398ABS is superior for residential drain pipe. it welds together; that shit aint coming apart; no roots getting in; doesn't get crushed unless a concrete truck drives over it.
>>2980415>yetMy pipes have been in there for 20 years. Never had one blow apart.
>>2980427I had one blow off the top of my hot water tank. but that was because the old house didn't have an expansion tank and the water hammering and heat finally broke it after several years
>>2980428imagine having a pvc pipe attached to a hot water tank.then imagine telling people
>>2980430that's the way it was when I got there. and that's the way it still is.
>>2980431that is no divergence from what i typed about you.
>>2980423ABS for DWV is banned in california for some weird political reasons.
>>2980448ABS that uses recycled resins, which weakens it and can cause pipe failure, is banned. Non-shit ABS is fine.
>>2980448>ABS for DWV is banned in california for some weird political reasons. You really can't even find ABS pipe around here in Eastern Colorado. Not sure why. Everything is PVC.

>>2980398What is that purple stuff suppose to do?
>>2981703Softens the PVC to accept the adhesive so the resulting joint is chemically welded.
>>2980418Clear primer was the original. Since we imported the turd world, and we can’t trust them, we had to add the purple tint.
I like primer. It smells good. Also seems to make the glue work even better. And the way the combo of glue/primer works to soften and lube the pvc so your glue joints slide together and bottom out in the joint easily is a godsend.
>>2983528This. You’re supposed to sniff the primer and use it to clean up drying pvc glue that you made a mess with. Use the glue to glue stuff.
>>2980409I've seen newbies stick pipe together with nothing but primer before. We let him turn on the water lmao
